My Lips Get So Chapped in Autumn—Here Are 12 Lip Treatments I Swear By
Autumn is officially back, as are the falling leaves, colder temperatures and all the cosy knits. It's actually one of my favourite seasons, as I'm constantly in a cosy bubble. It's also the time that I like to transition my skincare products from my lightweight summer ones to my super-moisturising, hydrating and thicker ones. My normal-to-dry skin seems to be struggling with the constantly changing weather, as I've recently found myself getting more dry patches than usual.
However, I think I've just about found the perfect combination of products to keep my body hydrated by lathering my body in Keys Soulcare's Sacred Body Oil as soon as I get out of the shower and then layering my trusted CeraVe Moisturising Lotion on top to lock it all in.
I've been desperate to also find some go-to products to keep my lips from chapping and feeling terribly sore, as they're probably one of my biggest problem areas. I've been on the hunt for a while, but I think I've finally found the perfect lip treatments and balms to help protect my lips.
So keep scrolling for 12 lip treatments that I swear by. They're all formulated with a mix of skin-loving ingredients such as vitamin E, ceramides and hyaluronic acid.
1. Bite Beauty Agave+ Nighttime Lip Therapy
This overnight lip mask is the perfect way to give your lips some TLC whilst you sleep. Formulated with pomegranate extract and superfood oils to give your lips some deep hydration, it goes on like a balm and then melts down to an oil. Simply smooth, melt and sleep, and wake up to soft and super-hydrated lips.
2. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Berry
Absolutely everyone raves about Laneige's lip sleeping masks and for good reason, as they do a brilliant job at soothing dehydrated and chapped lips and removing dead skin and flakes. This little pot of magic is infused with berry mix complex and Laneige’s moisture wrap technology. It comes in a variety of flavours that smell almost good enough to eat.
3. Glossier Balm Dotcom in Cookie Butter
Glossier's Balm Dotcom flavours have been a firm favourite of mine over the last year due to how hydrating they leave my lips. They're formulated with the likes of castor oil and lanolin, which have some great moisturising properties that your lips won't be able to get enough of. Glossier recently added to the range with a limited-edition Cookie Butter falvour, which I can confirm smells and feels amazing!
4. Sculpted by Aimee Beauty Balm
If you're after a lightweight and non-sticky balm that will leave your lips feeling silky smooth, then this one is definitely for you. Say goodbye to dull-looking and dry lips.
5. Paula's Choice Hyaluronic Acid Peptide Lip Booster
This lip booster is formulated with moisturising hyaluronic acid and firming peptides to reduce fine lines and keep lips feeling soft and supple.
6. Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Treatment
This cult classic offers up a blend of ultra-rich and creamy whipped ingredients to naturally exfoliate and leave lips feeling fresh, soft and moisturised.
7. Burt's Bees 100% Natural Overnight Intensive Lip Treatment
This is another great option for anyone who's a fan of an overnight lip treatment. This all-natural formula helps to restore the soft and supple lips that you know and love. You can find a mix of emollients, waxes and oils to keep the hydration going from morning to night.
8. Keys Soulcare Comforting Balm
There's truly nothing better than a product that does it all, and this comforting balm does exactly that. It was made with your dry points in mind, from your lips down to your elbows. Simply work the balm into the dry areas for a deeply nourishing and hydrating feel.
9. Naturopathica Sweet Cherry Conditioning Lip Butter
I love nothing more than a lip treatment that works its magic whilst also leaving a sweet lingering smell. This one by Naturopathica provides a naturally plumping pomegranate-jojoba complex and antioxidant sweet cherry purée to leave lips feeling softer and more plumped whether using morning or night.
10. Kiehl's Butter Mask for Lips
Kiehl's always get it right when it comes to creating products that'll leave your skin feeling smooth and more hydrated. This lip mask is formulated with fairly traded coconut oil and wild mango butter to rehydrate the lips while you sleep. It can also be used as a 15-minute preparation for a lipstick that could be matte or a balm.
11. StriVectin Advanced Hydration Hyaluronic Omega Moisture Lip Mask
Formulated with omega-rich fatty acids and hyaluronic acid, this leave-on lip mask helps to strengthen the lip barrier and prevent moisture loss. It can be used at night or throughout the day to reveal visibly smooth and supple lips.
12. By Terry Baume de Rose Lip Care
This is a cult classic from By Terry. It helps to repair, nourish and keep lips feeling supple and protected. It's been loved by many, including Hollywood stars, for years, and we can totally see why!
