I Live in Black Sweaters and Think These 19 Are the Absolute Best
There are certain wardrobe staples that will never, and I mean never, go out of style no matter how many trends may come and go. Among them are vintage jeans, black ankle boots, leather jackets, and yes, black sweaters. As a connoisseur of black sweaters myself, I truly couldn't imagine my wardrobe without at least several of them. They go with so many different outfits, whether it's a simple turtleneck and jeans combo or a cardigan layered on top of a dress, and just always look chic. What's not to love?
Personally, I have a few categories of black sweaters on rotation in my closet—my must-haves, if you will. Black turtlenecks, for one as well as a cute cropped knit to pair with high-waisted pants and skirts. Since I'm a big fan of the staple, I'm always looking for the coolest versions on the market and I'm pleased to share that I've found 19 such black sweaters that have earned my stamp of approval. So if you're looking to re-stock your staples, I suggest you scroll through the below edit to find one (or two) that suit you.
Black Cardigans
Vince's sweaters are simply in a category all their own. IYKYK.
I want this whole loungewear set, to be honest, but I'll start with the cardigan.
Black Turtlenecks
I always stock a few turtleneck bodysuits because they offer that seamless tucked-in look.
Black Sweaters with Asymmetric Necklines
Wear this with jeans for a simple but effective look.
The easiest way to get in on the cutout trend.
Black Cropped Sweaters
As the name suggests, this single knit can worn in any number of ways.
The backless trend everyone's flaunting on Instagram.
Next up, shop the anti-skinny jean trend that's still trending hard.
