These Cult-Favorite Leggings Are on Sale—Plus 25 Other Things to Buy Now
It's no secret that we feel very strongly about activewear here at THE/THIRTY, and have got a lot of opinions about it. We love to write about our favorite sports bras, new activewear trends, and the sets we've tested and trusted. There are so many great pieces out there that are designed for every type of workout, from yoga to running to HIIT. Our activewear cup runneth over, so to speak.
But there is one cult favorite pair of leggings that continuously makes our list: Zella leggings. The Nordstrom-made brand's leggings are a universal favorite with editors and readers alike.
The cult-favorite leggings:
So what's so special about them? Well, for one, they're well-made and so comfortable, meaning they'll support you, but not bug you during a workout. And two, at around $59 a pair, they're at a pretty good price point, considering some of the "designer" leggings of the world can cost more than that. I've had a pair that has been through countless workouts and machine washes and they still hold up so well. Not to mention, they're pretty good for lounging and traveling in. Zella has different leggings—from Flow to Studio, but the classic, in my opinion, is the Live In pair. I find they have the right amount of compression and stretch, stay put while I'm pushing myself during a workout, and don't leave me 100% drenched in sweat.
Need more convincing? Here are some reviews I pulled from Nordstrom's site, which are just as passionate as mine.
"I've had these for almost a year now and I cannot say enough good things! I live in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, and I mostly do outdoor activities in these. I rock climb, hike 14 footers, scramble over ridges, run trails, and more in these and they never fail. They're never too hot, they truly do wick sweat away. And NEVER ride down, 12-mile hikes and I don't have to pull them up once."—Nordstrom reviewer
"I LOVE these leggings! So much so that I now own 4 pairs! The high waist is perfect AND comfortable, and the overall fit, quality, and style are great! Bonus: They make your booty look awesome!"—Nordstrom reviewer
"I wear these all the time. The thick waistband snatches me in. I love that they never fade no matter how many times I wash them. They're not too warm and not too cool so I wear them all year long."—Nordstrom reviewer
If you're sold on these, I have even better news: They're at a discount right now thanks to Nordstrom's Black Friday sale. So it's the perfect time to try them out at a cheaper price. I can't make any guarantees, but I strongly predict you won't regret the purchase.
And if you're looking for more gear, Nordstrom has plenty of activewear on sale to choose from right now. Pick some things up for your fall workout routine, or lounging or working from home. Take a look at some of our sale must-haves below.
More activewear from Nordstrom's big sale:
The Zella brand doesn't just end at leggings, they've also got great sports bras, tanks, and activewear accessories. This sports bra is made for medium-impact workouts (running and training), and it also has a longer hem that pairs well with the matching high-waist leggings.
Alo Yoga is another favorite brand here at THE/THIRTY. These leggings are made to fit like second skin—the wide waistband can be folded over if you don't want a high-waisted fit.
We love a two-in-one and this tank with a built-in shelf bra doesn't disappoint. The fabric has four-way stretch, has a super-soft feel, and is moisture-wicking.
I always take advantage of the shoe deals during the Black Friday sales, so I'm definitely eyeing some new workout shoes, like this pair from Nike. These have enough cushioning and foam to provide support and comfort, and the design is breathable.
For my personal leggings collection, I like to have a mix of "business" pairs (the black, navy, or gray no-nonsense kind) and "fun" pairs (crazy prints and colors). These would definitely go in my fun pair pile. Look at that print!
I truly don't think you can have enough socks, especially if you work out on the regular. These are designed for sprints and distance training, so they're breathable.
Add an extra layer before and after your workout with this soft jersey shirt. It's also great for lounging or running errands.
If you're looking for something to wear on a run or walk around the block when the weather gets cooler, this option ticks off all the boxes. Sweat-wicking? Check. Enough pockets for keys, phone, and cash? Check. Performance features like a stand collar and thumbhole cuffs? Check.
Lightweight and moisture-wicking, these leggings are made for studio classes and even everyday wear. Cut from recycled water bottles, they have a compressive fit and high waist.
You can use these shoes for both indoor and outdoor workouts. Plus, the heels are rounder, which is designed specifically for a woman's foot. The cushioned sole absorbs shock and propels energy. Some science for you.
If you need extra support, this underwire sports bra is ideal for high-impact workouts. It has wide straps for maximum comfort.
Add this to the "fun" leggings list. The sculpting leggings have a side and back zip pocket, which is great if you're going on a run and want to carry light.
Whether you want to wear them to work out or just lounge around at home, these joggers are pretty versatile. The fabric is made from recycled fiber and features 10% Spandex, so they're just the right amount of stretchy.
This nylon backpack is lightweight, durable and including ample pockets for adventures on the hiking trails or to your local gym.
Yes, this may look like an ordinary workout tee, but it's got some pretty cool features. It has thumbhole sleeves and side mesh panels for extra breathability.
This cropped top is made from easy-to-wear ribbed fabric that's stretchy and comfortable, whether you wear it for a lower-impact workout like Pilates or on a coffee run.
The moto design on these leggings brings a touch of sartorial cool to workouts. They also have mesh details for breathability and cooling, so you can push yourself without worrying about overheating.
Chafe-preventing flatlock seams perfect the athletic fit of midi-length leggings that flatter with a very wide, high waistband.
The classic sports bra is given an upgrade thanks to Nike's signature Dri-Fit fabric. It also comes with a mesh racerback detail and removable soft cups.
When the weather gets a little chillier, you'll be thankful for this lightweight hoodie that will keep you warm before and after your workout.
This easy tank has a crop fit so it won't get it in the way of your workout, and has a breezy, loose fit so you don't feel too constricted. I'd totally wear this while doing chores around my apartment, too.
With winter coming up, this track jacket is perfect for chilly runs and outdoor workouts. It has a slim fit, hood, thumbholes, and pockets for your essentials.
This ribbed tank provides a tighter fit, which is great if you don't want to worry about any extra fabric getting in the way during your workout. It has a racerback design and a built-in shelf bra.
You can't go wrong with Nike's classic leggings, which have its moisture-wicking Dri-Fit technology. There's also a mesh panels on the back of the calves for breathability and cooling, so you can push yourself without worrying about overheating.
This Natori bra has the support of two bras in one and is designed for high-impact workouts. It's got a hidden underwire, foam cups, and adjustable, convertible straps.
Here's another easy, breezy tank to consider for your workout. The bright green color is a lot of fun and is an activewear trend we don't see going anywhere.
