No, It's Not Dated—Victoria Beckham Agrees This Is Still the Best Product for Lit-From-Within Skin
Yes, highlight can be modern. One beauty editor shares her full review of the Victoria Beckham Beauty Reflect Highlighter Stick.
I have to start this article by saying that I do not usually like highlighters—they feel like they belong in 2016, along with contouring palettes. I truly never reach for them, despite my love for glowing makeup looks. The thing is, I have quite textured skin and often get breakouts on my cheeks, and every highlighter I've tried makes both these things look a whole lot worse. Therefore, I often use illuminating primers or glowy foundations to achieve that dewy finish. That was until I discovered the one product that delivers a perfectly lit-from-within sheen without any traces of sparkle. Let me introduce you to the Victoria Beckham Beauty Reflect Highlighter Stick.
It's no secret that VB's skin always looks so glowy and healthy, and I suspect that this highlighter stick is her secret. I've fallen so in love with this beauty product that I thought it was only right to do a full review (pictures included!). Keep scrolling for everything I want you to know, and prepare to head to checkout ASAP. You've been warned.
Victoria Beckham Beauty Reflect Highlighter Stick Review
The Formula
Whilst I love pretty much everything about this product, it's the formula that truly stands out. The creamy, lightweight highlighter glides onto the skin and requires practically no blending whatsoever. It has this dewy, glass-like finish, with a natural luminosity that makes it look like you've just come from a five-star facial. It's practically undetectable on the skin, yet it adds this glowy sheen that says "I drink three litres of water a day". How does it do this? It's all down to the pearlescent pigments. These pigments create a natural-looking radiance without that glittery finish that so many other highlighters can leave.
The Shades
The highlighter is currently available in two shades, although I would love to see more in the future! The shades available are Pearl, a creamy, sheer hue, and Amber, which adds more of a golden, bronzed glow. During the winter months, Pearl is my go-to; however, in summer, I can't get enough of Amber. In fact, I use it alongside my favourite cream bronzer for the ultimate summery makeup look.
The Application
Housed in the chicest gold vessel, this highlighter comes in a handy stick format, which makes it so easy to swipe straight onto the skin (although you can use a makeup brush if you wish). What I love about the stick format is that you can use it pretty much anywhere, and I also like to swipe it across my décolletage when I'm getting dressed up for the evening. It's probably the quickest multi-purpose beauty product in my makeup bag, as I only have to blend the tiniest amount with my fingers for the perfect lit-from-within glow.
The Results
As you can see, one swipe of this highlighter makes it look as if the sun is hitting my face in all the right places. I like to pair it with a BB cream and an illuminating concealer, and I'm always so in love with the result. It's subtle in the best way possible, creating a healthy, natural-looking finish that always earns me compliments. If, like me, shimmery highlighters aren't your thing, but you love a glowing makeup look, you need to add this to your makeup collection this spring. I promise, you will not regret it.
