"I searched high and low for the perfect dress, and even though I tried on so many beautiful gowns, there wasn't a single one that felt like 'The One.' In the end, I decided not to choose one that I merely liked, and instead I designed a dress that I truly love. I found an amazing tailor in Los Angeles and we worked together every step of the way to bring my dream wedding gown to life." — Catherine, 27

“I did the unthinkable—I picked my dress without trying it on or seeing it in person! Due to a busy schedule, I wasn't able to travel to India with my family to find a dress, so I trusted my parents to find something I’d love. I had an idea of balancing traditional Hindu colors with modern cuts. A combination of red, white and/or gold is common, but I wanted a more contemporary mermaid shape for the skirt and a sweetheart neckline for the top. This dress is even more special to me because it's a reminder of how lucky I am to have parents who would go to the ends of the earth to make my dreams come true.” — Mitalee, 29
“I found my dream dress at an adorable shop, The Dress Theory, in Seattle, Washington with my mom, sister, and two bridesmaids. I love that it's actually made up of separates (it’s a skirt and bustier) by Sarah Seven. It makes the whole look feel more fun, carefree, and different from a traditional wedding dress. I also plan to wear the top again!” — Kit, 27
“I knew I wanted a dress by Israeli designer Inbal Dror ever since I first saw her collection three years ago. And as soon as I got engaged, I knew what I was looking for. I wanted a dress that has glamour, elegance, and tasteful sexiness. I wanted a low V-neck, an open back, long sleeves, and no volume. I ended up finding my dress at a Mark Ingram Atelier trunk show in New York City. From the gorgeous intricate lace overlay that’s scattered with tiny crystal beads, to the pearls lining the inside of my wrists, I fell in love with every detail.” — Caitilin, 33
“This dress is actually made by my mom. I found a design that I loved, and together we created a dress that only I would have for my wedding day. That is one of the reasons this dress is so special to me. As far as color and style go, I knew I didn't want a traditional white wedding dress so I went with grays, lavenders, and very light peach.” — Miyo, 29
“In addition to it being powerful and majestic, I chose red because one of my favorite teachers in school said that it’s the most slimming color. I wanted the capelette to be my wings, and I probably said more than once I wanted to be my version of a Khaleesi. Cheryl and Joy, the designers behind my dress, knew exactly how to take that hot mess of a wish list and turn it into something beautiful.” — Hannah, 26
