Every Type of Shoes You Should Own by the Time You're 30
There are two types of women in this world. The ones who can’t get enough of shoes (us), and the ones who could take ‘em or leave ‘em. No matter what half you fall in (we’re guessing it’s the can’t-get-enough half), there are certain styles every woman should have in her wardrobe. What use is a closet full of stilettos when in reality you spend most your time in activewear? You need an edit—something that you can reach for, for every occasion, without having to run out and shop in a panic (we know, where’s the fun in that?).
We asked buyer and owner of Parlour X boutique, Eva Galambos, to share her edit of the top five shoe styles you should have in your closet, to make getting dressed each day beyond easy. There’s a pair for every occasion—desk-to-drinks, weekend escapes, and yes, even a pair of sneakers.
Keep scrolling for Galambos’ edit, and then shop our favourite picks.
"An ultra-feminine classic style, the ballerina flat is a staple in my wardrobe, perfect for work, this chic style is also high on comfort. Go for a luxe update on this iconic shape with a statement metallic or straps."
"A beautiful wedge is a must for every woman—this is your go-to shoe for garden parties and days at the races—perfect for any spring event which requires effortless elegance."
"Sandals are so hot right now—they are the ultimate flat for warmer weather. Laser-cut and lace up styles can be worn with denim, floral prints and summer whites."
"Sneakers are everywhere—and a wardrobe essential—no longer regulated to weekend wear, designer styles can be worn to work and are essential for holidays and casual catch-ups with friends all year round."
"The perfect ladylike silhouette for the office and beyond. This shoe takes you from chic daytime workwear to sexy evenings out—it should be an investment piece in any women’s wardrobe."
