Ready for some fresh Nordstrom buys? This year is off to a strong start already at the retailer, and the new-arrivals section is really popping off right now. How do I know this? Over the past few weeks, I've done a ton of trend research for the year ahead, poring over the spring/summer 2022 collections, studying what celebs like Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber are wearing, and scanning my social media feeds to find out what people are talking about. In other words, I have a pretty good idea of what's to come in fashion this year, and I plan on shopping accordingly.

Based on my findings, I've come to the conclusion that the 36 Nordstrom items you're about to see below—from the designer shoulder bag that will be the blueprint for every other trendy bag to the color that magically elevates anything and the fresh wardrobe basics that everyone will wear—qualify as some of the buzziest finds of the moment and will be important throughout the year. I'm particularly excited about each of these items, and I know you will be too.

This color instantly makes everything look very "fashion."

This will be the blueprint for the year's coolest bags.

Barely-there cardigans are high up on my wish list this year.

The texture makes this look so expensive.

Buttermilk is the incoming color trend I have my eye on.

These are such a good wallet-friendly alternative to the Versace platforms.

I can't explain it, but I have a hunch that suede bags are coming back.

Luxe (and luxe-looking) staples were a prominent theme on the runways, and now, I'm craving classics like a tan trench.

Don't shoot the messenger, but I think we're about to see a lot more of these.

Basic, a little subversive, wearable—that's the 2022 vibe I'm going for.

Wearing kelly green just doesn't get any easier.

BY FAR is a brand I always look to for the next thing since it tends to be ahead of the curve, and the brand has me wanting a pair of Mary-Jane pumps.

Did I just stumble upon the next viral Skims dress?

Barely-there pieces were all over the spring runways, and this Jacquemus cardigan perfects the look.

Relaxed trousers continue to be an It item, and they make everything look a tad more elevated.

You know it's a hot-ticket item when you can barely find your size in stock.

The trend that just might have you hitting pause on your jeans.

I'm already planning my summer aesthetic, and it involves a lot of cool tube tops.

Skip the mini bag—2022 will be all about slouchy carryalls.

I haven't stopped thinking about this skirt since I saw it on the Sandy Liang runway.

Pair this drop-waist skirt with tall boots for a cool-girl spin on winter style.

All signs point to this year being the one ballet flats stage a comeback.
