Stephanie Shepherd—also known as Steph Shep—is the definition of an anomaly. Chances are you know her as the former chief operating officer of the entire Kardashian West Brands, but the environmental advocate and social entrepreneur has pivoted into something of her own since she left the Kardashian empire: Future Earth. Through Future Earth—or the "climate club” that everyone is invited to—Shepherd is meeting people wherever they are in their journeys to living a lower-impact lifestyle. Shepherd has garnered almost two million followers and has dedicated her social platform and influence to inspire global activism.
The community and online platform seeks to evoke meaningful engagement around the climate crisis, primarily through education on social media and connecting through the Future Earth book club and climate talks, which have hosted notable guests like Kendall Jenner and President Joe Biden. Future Earth also has a shop that directly funds the research and design teams that sustain the nonprofit and sells items like The Package Free x Future Earth Climate AdvoKit—a collection of simple product swaps to reduce waste. In addition to co-founding Future Earth, Shepherd is an ambassador for Days for Girls International and the Environmental Working Group and a board member of former Vice President Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project and World War Zero—all organizations that share her passion for preserving the environment. Today, Future Earth is also launching a limited-edition capsule collaboration with Sami Miro Vintage featuring original cut-and-sewn pieces and some one of one vintage with Future Earth graphics.
Before Shepherd became an environmental thought leader and changemaker, she, of course, helped build the Kardashian West Brands into a burgeoning business, and even before that, she actually started her career performing as a dancer. In fact, she was an assistant to Creative Director Mikey Minden and Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin.
Listen to the latest episode of Second Life to hear how Shepherd's past experiences helped her to evolve her platform to make a real impact on human life and our environment. And keep scrolling to shop some of our favorite Future Earth items.
