If you could describe your 2024 style mantra in three words, which would you choose?

Classic, modern and clean.

Is quiet luxury in or out? What about Y2K?

Quiet luxury is not a trend; it is a timeless and enduring concept that remains relevant regardless of changing fashion trends. I never caught on to the Y2K trend since I always purchase with intention of building a classic wardrobe.

How would you describe the evolution of your personal style in recent years?

The evolution of my personal style in recent years has been marked by a shift toward a more classic and elegant aesthetic, influenced by my admiration for my mom’s timeless style. Previously, I went through phases of indulging in fast fashion, but a few years ago, I underwent a significant transformation in my approach to shopping. I realized I was spending a considerable amount of money without building a cohesive wardrobe. My closet had numerous gaps, lacking a sense of unity.

In response, I adopted a new strategy, prioritizing quality over quantity in my purchase. Now, each addition to my wardrobe is carefully considered, fitting into the perfect puzzle piece of my overall style. This shift has not only brought a more refined and enduring quality to my fast-fashion choices but has also allowed me to create a wardrobe that reflects my personal taste and stands the test of time.

Sierra Mayhew was always destined to work in fashion, but she didn't know it at first. Growing up with no choice but to wear a rotation of school uniforms and activewear, her love for fashion really blossomed when she moved away for college and was able to finally define her very own personal style. Shortly thereafter, she interned at Elle magazine and instantly knew that editorial was for her. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, she worked for ShopBazaar, contributing regularly to Bazaar.com, and finally made her way to Who What Wear, where she is an associate editor. When she’s not working, you can catch her always trying to catch a flight, rollerblading through New York City traffic, or exploring the latest luxury vintage boutique.
