39 New Summer Clothing Items I'd Buy Even If I Weren't a Fashion Editor

The term "the dog days of summer" was definitely coined in reference to these long, hot July days. As much as I love summer, when it's in the 90s every day with no relief in sight, I'm kind of over it. The only thing getting me through it is my summer wardrobe, which I try to keep stocked with as many airy, easy pieces as possible. The new arrivals section at every retailer is still filled with tons of pieces that fit into this description, so my wishlist is long at the moment.

As a fashion editor, I'll be the first to admit that I buy more "fashiony" items than the average person, but I also love wearable, accessible, versatile items that I think would appeal to anyone who does or doesn't work in fashion. Below, you'll find some of my favorite things right now, including the best Levi's jeans, chic summer accessories, and lightweight dresses from some of yours and my favorite brands. Stay cool and scroll to shop!

Next up, what my fellow editor Nicole wants from Nordstrom this summer (and she's a picky shopper).
