I'm Having a Chic New England Summer: 6 Trends I've Spotted From Sag Harbor to Nantucket
This year, I’ve been able to spend most of my summer galavanting along the East Coast, taking weekend trips to Nantucket, Montauk, South Hampton, and Sag Harbor every chance I got. Needless to say, I've had a pretty picturesque summer so far. Most recently with a trip out to the prettiest, east coast chic propperty in Hampton Bays, Canoe Place Inn & Cottage which has quickly become one of my favorite hotels to visit out east. This property is gorgoeus year round but it truly comes alive during peak season and I try and make it out to the hotel every summer. This year the hotel has some how gotten even better, not to mention how delicious the in house restaurant Good Ground Tavern and Aperol spritzes served at the size of my head.
While on my weekend journeys, I kept my fashion editor hat on, clocking trends everywhere I went. There were six that stood out from the others I saw this summer. Some are more predictable than others, but all are equally chic. Keep scrolling to find out what they are.
Stripes on Stripes on Stripes
When you look up "summer East Coast trends," the first thing you'll find is a slew of striped pieces. I for one always keep a striped sweater in my bag for the Hamptons.
Sea-Inspired Jewelry
Nothing says "beach vacation" like under-the-sea-inspired jewelry. I wore this Jenny Bird pendant to a dinner in East Hampton and it totally elevated my outfit.
Black + White Looks
Our editor Kristen Nichols just got back from Nantucket and wore this stunning black-and-white look for summer. I had to save it to re-create later.
White Swim
The summer hue that is just screaming to be worn on a Nantucket beach day is undoubtedly white. I opted for several cream swimsuits to wear all along the East Coast this summer.
Everything Eyelet
It doesn't get more New England summer than pretty eyelet pieces. From dresses to matching sets to shorts, the more eyelets, the better.
