I Only Buy the Best Quality Items—These 3 From Zara's Sister Brand Make the Cut
Do you follow Andrea Cheong on Instagram or TikTok? If you don't, you should. She has become the trusted and approachable authority in an arena that many find daunting to step into—sustainable fashion. On her platforms, Andrea breaks it down into easily digestible, bite-size pieces of information to arm you with more sensible shopping tactics. With her wealth of knowledge and very good taste, we just had to knock on her virtual door. In this month's column, she shares with us the best-quality pieces from Massimo Dutti this season. Read on to discover her picks.
As anyone worth their sustainability salt knows, natural fibres alone don’t equate to a sustainable fashion item. However, it’s still one of the main things that I look out for when shopping, partly due to the comfort factor (natural materials are more breathable), and partly because pieces made from natural fibres typically hold more value than synthetic items, should it ever be donated or resold. Not to mention, if a piece of clothing ever ends up in landfill, at least natural fibres degrade quicker than synthetic. This is the first and most basic of the shopping tips that I give to anyone who is looking to buy less whilst buying better.
Massimo Dutti is a good place to put this tip into action. Its summer collection has a few pieces that have caught my eye because they’re well made for the price point, and there are a number of linen and cotton pieces that could seamlessly fit into the majority of wardrobes.
Scroll on to discover the Massimo Dutti pieces that pass my test.

1. Trousers & Shorts
Whether you’re spending the summer in the city or by the beach, linen trousers are your best friend. That they crumple with wear makes them all the more luxurious in my opinion—clothes are supposed to move with you and adapt to your body. It’s the beauty of the fabric, so embrace it! This ochre pair adds depth to a neutral outfit, whilst the dart detail at the relaxed waist elongates the torso. I’d wear them with leather sandals or mules.

2. Shirts & Tops
Throwing on a breezy, cotton shirt is one of summer's simplest luxuries. Getting dressed really doesn’t need to be hard when you’re prioritising natural fibres and will be comfortable all day. Cotton voile is a translucent and delicate textile that in spite of its translucency, retains a silk-like feel. It also tends to be more expensive to use than generic cotton. A good-quality version will be high in thread count and soft to the touch. This pale blue Johnny-collar shirt channels a romantic feel with its billowing sleeves. I love the idea of this sweeping neckline worn over a swimsuit.

3. Skirts & Dresses
I love the vintage feel of this 100% organic linen number with its beautiful wavy lattice work on the border. The style is very simple and clean, which is all part of its charm and versatility. I’d wear it with a crochet top or basic tank—cottagecore, but grown up. Linen comes from the flax plant and is considered to be a lower impact fibre than even cotton, as it doesn’t require as much irrigation.
