It's Been Years Since I've Worn Shorts, But I'm Giving These Stylish Ones a Shot

@leiasfezThere are those who stick to tried-and-true outfit formulas and those who shrug off any concept of fashion boundaries. I'd consider myself a part of the latter. There's rarely any style or trend I won't touch or at least try, but shorts have always been the exception. It's not that I have anything against them. If anything, they're downright functional for this time of year, but the mini length and leg-squeezing design just don't seem to jive with my thicker thighs and curves. For this simple reason, I have sworn off wearing shorts (other than for lounging around the house) for years.
But never say never. Something about the moment right now has me wanting to step out of my comfort zone and give shorts another shot. Instead of going for Daisy Duke–adjacent cutoffs, I'm easing into things by opting for longer lengths that offer a bit more coverage. From tailored versions to carefree, vacation-ready shorts, keep scrolling to see all of the longer-length pairs I have in my cart right now.

@taniceelizabethAt this price, there's no reason not to at least give these a try.
Destroyed shorts are a bit controversial, but they're certainly having a moment.

For cooler L.A. nights, I'm already eyeing this leather pair.
Another shorts-and-vest combination. The addition of a white shirt really adds a cool factor.
Since I'm still knee-deep in my minimalist obsession, I added these to my cart so fast.
Flowy

@annasarlvitPair these with a fitted racerback tank and strappy kitten heels for a sophisticated take.
For those 90-degree days, you'll want to have these on standby.

@leiasfezI immediately gasped after seeing these—that's how much I love them.
How many coordinating sets can I own? Time will tell…

@lucywilliams02The magical thing about ASOS is that it has a variety of lengths and sizes available for a ton of its pieces; these also come in tall for the more height inclined.
Paperbag shorts are one of the key shorts styles I'm shopping because they accentuate pear shapes so well.
These are definitely not within my price range, but a girl can dream, right?
