4 Sporty Outfits L.A. Girls Are Wearing for a Summer of Wellness

If there's one cliché about L.A. girls that's actually true, it's that we take our health and wellness seriously. Activewear is the unspoken dress code, and smoothie spots, fitness studios, and sunset hikes are embedded into our DNA. Plus, with the city's beaches and sprawling hills practically in our backyard, there's always a friendly reminder to get outside and spend time in nature.
My L.A. co-worker Angelica Zdzienicki and I shamelessly fit into this stereotype, so we're already dreaming of ways to spend our summer of wellness. Of course, our minds went directly to the cute, sporty outfits we could wear around the city. After several DMs, we came up with four activewear 'fits from FP Movement that are perfect for all kinds of sunny-day activities. The brand has all the essential one-pieces, comfy shorts, and trendy tennis separates we'll need in our summer wardrobes. Take a look at how we styled them below, and don't blame us when you're inspired to pick up a new sport (or at least get outside for a hot girl hike).
"This summer, I'm focusing on trying new activities, and tennis is the first item on my hit list. This open-back dress is exactly what I needed to fulfill the aesthetic. The built-in shorts and silky fabric are the subtle details that make FP Movement my go-to source for sporty staples. Styled with bright sneakers, a vizor, and scrunched socks, this easy look takes you from the courts to brunch seamlessly." — Angelica Zdzienicki, social media strategist
I'll take any opportunity to explore all the beautiful hiking trails this city has to offer, and the lightweight, one-and-done Righteous Runsie is ideal for those uphill treks. The cute cutouts and airy shorts offer amazing mobility and keep me nice and cool. The Cakewalk Sling is roomy enough to hold all the essentials (phone, keys, water bottle, etc.) but compact enough to be lightweight. And of course, Hokas are my go-to hiking shoes because of their extra comfy, supportive fit. I'll have no choice but to take a cute picture at the top of the trails.
"My summer uniform revolves around the Never Better Bike Shorts and Win Win Sports Bra from FP Movement. The fabric is so light and buttery soft, which is perfect for all my activities, from beach hikes in Malibu to my post-Pilates smoothie runs. To finish off the look, I added a pop of color with my favorite running shoes. These are the pieces I'll reach for over and over again." — Zdzienicki
Lately, I've been going on more walks in my neighborhood to take a break from looking at my screen all day. Of course, a major component of these walks is finding a cute outfit to strut in. I'm absolutely loving the look and feel of FP Movement's Island Time Shorts. They tap into the hot-pants trend and pair effortlessly with the Never Better Crop. I also like to bring a long-sleeve baby tee for days when I prefer a little more coverage.
