Low-Rise Jeans Are Mainstream Again—These Are the 5 Shoes Everyone Is Wearing With Them
Classic Loafers
The 90s low-rise jeans are back and better than ever. I love it when old trends hit the mainstream with the fashion scene again. I'm excited to sport a few of my pairs for spring. My only dilemma with styling my low-rise jeans was what shoes to wear with them. Luckily, while scrolling on Instagram, I struck some inspiration. I saw cool girls wearing their low-rise jeans with the perfect shoe trends to complement their outfits. Now there's no need for trial and error. (I tend to make a mess when I'm trying on outfits in my closet).
From simple ballet flats to heeled sandals, these spring shoe trends are the chosen few for It girls to sport with their looks. It's only a matter of time before each shoe trend begins to take over the season. If you're on the fence about what to wear with your low-rise jeans this season, keep scrolling to find outfit inspiration and each trend.
Shop Classic Loafers
When in doubt, you can never go wrong with a pair of classic loafers. They're chic, easy to slip on, and even easier to style. This outfit is the perfect example of that. I love a laid-back, casual vibe in a look like this one. Try wearing pair of classic loafers with a baby tee next time you wear a pair of low-rise jeans.
Peep-Toe Pumps
Peep toe pumps are becoming the It girl shoe trend of the season, so it's no wonder low-rise jeans look incredible with them. If you're a petite fashion person like me, then you know the easiest way to "tailor" your jeans is to just wear a pair of pumps. It's so chic if you don't feel like running to the tailor or folding your hemline. And the peep toe element adds a fun spring touch to any outfit. This look below shows how a peep toe pump can make even a laid-back outfit with a track jacket and low-rise jeans look more polished.
Ballet Flats
I adore wearing a pair of flats to contrast a look, like this one below. Low-rise jeans are often considered edgy and cool, and flats are an easy shoe to style with them and add to that vibe. If you live in a walkable city like I do, then a pair of flats are everywhere you turn, and they look so cool with a pair of low-rise jeans. I love a good juxtaposition.
Pointed-Toe Shoes
If pointed-toe shoes have only one fan, it's definitely me. This shoe trend has been major for consecutive seasons, so it's safe to say they aren't going anywhere. They look especially chic with a pair of low-rise jeans, IMHO. This outfit below is proof. If the weather permits, throw on a leather jacket (ideally cropped) with your low-rise jeans and pointed-toe shoe outfit. As an editor living in NYC, I always want to give off effortlessly chic energy when it comes to getting dressed.
Heeled Sandals
The time has finally come for us to wear a pair of heeled sandals. Spring is finally here, and so is the low-rise jeans trend. I never thought of wearing my low-rise jeans with sandals, but this outfit below has recently inspired me. I tend to go for basics in the warmer months, so a pair of low-rise jeans with a simple white tank top paired with heeled sandals is a no-brainer outfit for me. If you need to dress up your look more, trade the tank top for a halterneck top or a button-down shirt.
