We've Been Who What Wear Editors for 6+ Years—Here Are Our 2024 Shopping Lists
The fact that several Who What Wear editors have worked here for many years is undoubtedly a testament to how fulfilling it is to do what we do. I, for one, have been at Who What Wear since 2014, and a number of my fellow editors are also longtime employees.
My colleagues and friends Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour, Judith Jones, and Anna LaPlaca all have amazing style and taste, and all have been Who What Wear editors for more than six years. As one does, I asked them what they're shopping for right now—their 2024 wish lists, so to speak. They kindly obliged, and my personal wish list has grown exponentially after seeing what's on theirs.
In case you'd like a bit of shopping inspiration for the new year, scroll on to find out what longtime Who What Wear editors are coveting in 2024.
Shop Allyson's picks:
"I can see myself wearing these genius reversible earrings multiple times a week. I've never regretted a Sophie Buhai purchase."
"I've been wanting these shoes for ages, and I think that since I also need (yes, need) a pair of burgundy shoes, I'm ready to go for it."
"This is such a good winter-to-spring piece. I'm always looking for something besides blazers to wear with my tank tops, and this would be perfect."
"These polished trouser jeans are absolutely going to be my next denim purchase. They'd work for day or night, and the length is perfect for my 5'4" frame."
"Another season, another Prada bag for me to think about constantly. I've been on the hunt for a gray bag, as I think it works for every season. Also, this reminds me of a bag I had in the early 2000s, but it's a far chicer version."
"I love the bow trend, but I feel a little silly in the oversize ones. This one is the perfect size—it doesn't make me feel like I'm wearing one from when I was 8. Plus, the color is perfection."
"I've heard that these pants are like magic so frequently that I'm now fully convinced. While pricey, I think they're one of those pieces I'd wear constantly."
"In case you can't tell, I'm really into accessories. Oftentimes, it's the little things for me—like these subtle logo socks by Toteme. I can't wait to wear them with all of my sneakers and loafers."
Shop Judith's picks:
"I love '90s style, and lucky for me, we'll be seeing the minimal '90s aesthetic everywhere this year thanks to its massive presence on the spring/summer 2024 runways. The first thing I'm doing is updating my denim drawer with a pair of effortless straight-leg relaxed jeans—perfect for leaning into the pared-back vibe."
"I've always been a big fan of the countryside-cool barn jacket, and when Prada sent its own iterations of the utility style down the spring 2024 runway, my heart skipped a beat—especially since they were styled with contrasting sheer skirts, a combo I cannot wait to copy this year. I already have quite the collection of barn coats, but this one is currently at the top of my cart."
"I'm obsessed with the glacial-blue hues that designers from Prada to Fendi sent down the spring runways. The color is flattering on everyone and effortlessly elegant and versatile. It's the perfect pop of color to add to your wardrobe without being too bold or overbearing."
"While the transparent trend has been around for the past few seasons, I'm finally ready to buy into the romantic and fearless sheer styles on the market. A sheer skirt is the one piece I can't wait to buy. I'll be styling it with a soft crewneck sweater and pointed-toe shoes for a more casual and approachable spin on the trend."
"A burgundy leather bag is on my wish list this year. Burgundy is another huge color trend in 2024. I'm eyeing this Prada one to tote around my life in style."
"This year is all about beautiful and elegant outerwear. I still can't stop thinking about Tory Burch's oyster-pearl satin car coat from its recent collection. Right now, I have my eye on this stunning silhouette from Tove, which will be the focal point of all of my outfits."
"I'm upgrading my wardrobe staples with a handful of good-quality, elevated styles, such as this chic, understated vest. I'm obsessed."
Shop Nicole's picks:
"I already have this in black, but I'm highly considering the red too."
"What's better than a white tank you can wear to lunch but also to a party?"
"I am just so obsessed with the Andiamo hardware, and when you combine that with the shape and color of this bag, it's everything."
"It's not often you find shoes that you can truly see yourself wearing forever."
"I'm actually shocked this not only is still in stock but also is on sale."
Shop Anna's picks:
"The next It Gucci belt has arrived. I haven't stopped thinking about this slim horsebit style since I first saw it on the fall/winter 2023 runway styled with a maxi coat. While using it to cinch a blazer or coat would be my ideal way to wear it, the styling possibilities are truly endless."
"Everything Ferragamo is doing right now is so good. I have plenty of its new-season shoes and bags on my wish list, but it's these new-in boots coated in glossy patent leather that I can't stop drooling over. On the runway, they were styled with a billowing beige trench coat, and I'll be looking to re-create that outfit vibe."
"Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy was a style icon for many reasons, but one accessory she wore all the time was a simple tortoiseshell headband. Sophie Buhai's aptly named acetate style is the closest replica I've seen to Bessette-Kennedy's and comes in a range of solids and prints. It's been idling in my Ssense cart for weeks now."
"For some reason, there's a glaring lack of black miniskirts in my closet. I'm looking to fill in the empty space with this croc-effect style that's simple but far from boring."
"I turn 30 this year (eep!), and I'm planning on investing in a really nice watch to celebrate the milestone, specifically the Cartier Panthère. I adore the delicate, jewelry-like chain and the small face that can easily be worn among a stack of bracelets or styled solo."
"Everybody needs a few interesting tops on hand to wear with jeans, and right now, this elegant off-the-shoulder style is what I'm craving."
"You heard it here first: Corduroys are the new jeans. To me, this relaxed-fit pair from The Row is the ultimate goal."
"Greek statue–esque draping was all over the 2024 runways, and this stunning Khaite dress is my top pick to tap into the look. It's the kind of piece I can envision wearing with everything from boots to sandals."
