My DMs Popped Off When I Posted These Spring Looks—Here's How to Re-Create Them

Welcome to Before I Head Out, a monthly series in which fashion editor Anneliese Dominguez rounds up the snaps she's taken of her favorite outfits before heading out the door of her Los Angeles apartment.

Though small, my Instagram community is active. (If you don't already follow me, here's my shameless plug to hit that button.) Whenever I'm in need of a recommendation for a new book, they've got me. Should I keep watching that show I'm only semi into? I'll put a poll on my stories. My Instagram friends even helped me and my husband decide between a few honeymoon destinations. But when it comes to fashion, that's my forte, and I'm here to provide all the recommendations. I mean, Before I Head Out started because of the dozens (okay, hundreds) of mirror selfies I took and posted on social media.

With spring officially here, I've been dusting off a few warm-weather pieces (welcome back, crop tops, linen pants, and jean vests!) that were sitting in the back of my closet, and I've been posting even more often. My DMs are constantly blowing up with "Where'd you get that?" So if you're looking for your next spring 'fit, keep scrolling to learn how to re-create my most-loved looks. Oh, and prepare for compliments.

For a day of running around L.A. with my best friend, I opted for a maxi skirt (surprise, surprise). If you didn't know, I have an obsession with this one from Free People—I have it in various colors. These New Balance sneakers (which I also have in multiple colors, so sue me) are quickly becoming my go-to for easy, effortless outfit vibes. Paired with my favorite Amazon sporty sunnies, I was ready to roll.

If you saw me in these linen pants at least 10 times in the past month, no you didn't. They may or may not be my hyper fixation of the moment (along with the cherry limeade Poppi prebiotic drink, but that's a story for another platform). I have to remind myself to wash them because they're on rotation so often. I just love how they bring that spring element to all my outfits. Linen will do that! And yes, I'm wearing the New Balance sneakers in another color. I can't help myself.

This (on-sale!) blazer is a perfect choice if you're still into the oversize look but want to lean into the cinched trend that made its rounds on the runways. I continued to lean into spring trends by pairing it with a maxi skirt and flats. I'll be wearing this look to the office on repeat.

I actually styled this denim-on-denim assemble for a story we did with Saks recently. If you didn't already know, the combo has been trending hard over the past few months. While I've been wearing a long-sleeve denim jacket throughout the winter, I loved getting to sport this Agolde vest, which is giving major spring vibes.

I put this number on for a birthday dinner at the Polo Lounge. I wanted to be dressy but not too dressy, and I think I achieved just that. I believe the first DM I received when I posted this look was "Pants details. Now." (They're last-season AG Deven jeans that are now sold out in this color but come in a delightful dark blue, which I'm linking below.) And after that, more DMs rolled in demanding I tell them where they could cop the rest of the look. This was a chillier L.A. night, so as it warms up even more, I'll replace my boots with a mule or sandal.
