When looking at what the fashion set has been wearing as 2024 kicks off, I've noticed some shopping items are undeniably taking over—whether I'm spotting them IRL on the streets of New York or on Instagram. There is certainly no denying that style is evolving as we enter a new year, and that is palpable in some of the pieces we're seeing.

From the affordable hair accessory that is suddenly everywhere to the sunglass shape that feels very fresh to the investment timepieces in every insider's wardrobe, there are a handful of specific pieces and trends to know right now. Ahead, take a closer look at the cool 2024 shopping items we predict will be huge this year.

Jackets with built-in scarves have been around for a while now—with the Toteme versions specifically kicking off the trend. We're seeing the trend evolve now with more cape-like versions and leather styles from designers including Phoebe Philo and Bottega Veneta, so we expect to see this trend grow even further.

Season after season, we saw oversize blazers everywhere. Proportions are definitely changing now, though, as more fitted styles are becoming prevalent.

Watches are buzzier than ever, and we're seeing the collections of fashion insiders growing. The hot timepiece to own right now? A watch with a leather band. Among the most in-demand styles are the Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse, the Cartier Tank Louis, and the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso.

In 2023, we saw flats take over in a major way. As we head into 2024, the most dominant shape we're seeing are pointed ballerinas that are crafted with a V-shape along the foot. Designers including The Row, Saint Laurent, and Toteme have versions in their collections.

Furry Outerwear

There has been a lot of chatter on the internet about the mob wife aesthetic that is sweeping the fashion space. One of the key items dominating the look? A dramatic coat in faux fur, vintage fur, or shearling.

Acetate Aviator Sunglasses

The fresh sunglass style to own in 2024? Acetate aviators. The sporty shape is a cool take on pilot glasses that feels less common than wire-frame versions.
