Your $8 Accessory Is Now Here to Upgrade All Your Outfits

Take one look at the latest Totême collection and Elin Kling’s vision is clear: Black headbands are the 2017 way to nail minimal dressing. Proving less is always more, Scandinavian founder of Totême has been a Who What Wear Australia favourite and in particular by our group publisher, Alison Rice. “I love that she [Kling] focuses on timeless classics. I like to think the best-dressed woman in any room is the one who is consistent,” Rice says Rice in a recent story on fashion icons.

Despite the major move in brights, clashing prints, and controversial denim trends, simplistic and timeless dressing has managed to stay a safe, easy (and sustainable choice) for dressing. It’s clear through Jacquemus’ recent spring 2018 runway that accessories are having a wonderful moment right now, which sparked our inspiration to pull out the simple black cotton headband we once wore in high school, or for dance class, and wear it again in 2017. This time we’re pairing it back with oversized men’s-style white shirts, or little white linen slip dresses. Add-ons of coloured earrings or gold hoops are also a must this spring.
