At this point, it's safe to say you can get almost anything for a discount on Black Friday. In fact, the shopping holiday has become so ubiquitous in recent years that it seems to have nearly eclipsed Thanksgiving as the most important day in November. It's not just fast fashion and electronics that are getting marked down anymore, either. Even the higher-end retailers and brands that don't want to necessarily peg their promotions to Black Friday just happen to have sales around that day, and I'm all for it.
This is why I can pretty much guarantee you'll be able to find any and all of the below items—make up a pretty epic winter capsule wardrobe—at a discount come November 23. However, if you really want to build, fill, or complete your wardrobe for less when the time comes, you're going to have to prepare now, and that's really what brings us here today.
I've gone ahead and planned the capsule for you so that you can assess what you need and save these pieces (or similar version) to buy when the time comes—and with ease, at that. Consider this your shopping list, the one you should definitely bookmark and review as we get closer to the big day. Any on that note, continue on to see what makes the cut and for my favorite version of each trend or essential.
This should be the first layer for all your winter outfits.
Why not go with a stylish one?
A must for cold and windy days or for traveling.
If, like me, you tend to lose gloves, do yourself a favor and don't splurge.
Realistically, you'll probably need a few of these, but one is a good place to start.
I love the idea of layering this under a crewneck sweater.
Time to temporarily table your light-wash jeans.
Thick soles are a must for this.
How could you not love this one?
We just might have to buy this now.
Perfect for braving wet winter weather, too.
You'll wear these for years to come.
The trend that looks expensive no matter how much you spend on it.
All things leopard go this season, but how good are these mules?
Up next: the shoe trend I own five pairs of—and still want to keep buying.
