Take it from me, a remote worker who doesn't live in a "fashion" city: The outfits I wear for travel are the most important outfits that I wear. I choose my travel outfits carefully and usually shop for new pieces while I'm making my packing list. I've already started thinking about the trips I have planned in 2024 so far, and it's probably going to dictate what trends I buy for the next season to some extent.

As you know, not all trends are appropriate for travel. I tend to gravitate toward ones that are versatile and comfortable and don't take up a ton of luggage space. I took a close look at the spring/summer 2024 and my Instagram feed and selected seven that are perfect for travel and that I'll definitely be shopping for soon. Keep scrolling to find out what makes them superior and shop them for your own 2024 travel wardrobe.

Burgundy

Color trends are especially easy to incorporate into your travel wardrobe. Burgundy feels particularly fresh right now, and it's one of the most versatile color trends of 2024.

Pointed-Toe Flats

Unless I'm going to a wedding or another dressy event, I stick to flats when I travel. The newest flats trend—pointed-toe flats—will make all of your outfits look elegant.

Cream-Colored Jeans

I wear jeans more often than not when I travel. I'm looking forward to investing in a new cream-colored pair just like everyone else, seemingly.

Utility Jackets

I never travel without a jacket, and a utility style is what I'm buying for spring trips. This Miu Miu one is the goal, but there are plenty of others out there that you can get for far less than $5600.

Polo Shirts

Another trend I'm stealing from the runways—including Miu Miu, Gucci, and Loewe—is polo shirts. They're a no-brainer for travel because they're as easy to style as a T-shirt but slightly more elevated.

Oversize Sunglasses

As someone who doesn't sleep enough, especially when I travel, I plan on fully embracing the oversize-sunglasses trend.

Pedal Pushers

This one may be controversial, but I think it's going to end up being big. Pedal pushers are one of the buzziest trends on the horizon. Since I don't always love wearing shorts when I travel, these will be a great alternative when it's hot out.
