I'm 5'2", and These Are All My Favorite Jeans
Fun fact: I wear jeans seven days a week. While that may sound like an exaggeration, it’s actually 100% true. Winter, spring, summer, fall—whatever the season, I’m a jeans girl through and through and find myself regularly thanking my lucky stars that our office dress code allows for them. To put it further into perspective, the way most people feel about the comfort level of slipping into a pair of leggings or sweatpants at the end of the day is parallel to my feelings on denim.
Now that that’s out of the way, another one of my defining characteristics is that I happen to be 5’2”. While this is nothing to complain about, it has, at times, posed its challenges when it comes to shopping, and finding things that fit me in the best way possible. Lucky for my fellow petite girls out there, over the years, I’ve pretty much become a professional in this field, and I thought that today I’d doll out some of my acquired wisdom by sharing with you the jeans that I’ve found to be the best. Some I didn’t even have to hem, some of which I did (because you can’t always have it all), but I can tell you that in terms of rise, hips, and overall proportions, you’re going to love how these fit.
Style Notes: Me in my favorite jeans of all time. They’re Attico, and while this exact color is no longer available, you can shop them in a lighter wash below.
Shop all my favorite jeans
Like I mentioned above, these are my favorite jeans of all time. They’re very rigid and structured, so they have almost a dressy quality. This light wash also happens to feel perfect for the season ahead.Available in sizes IT36 to IT44.
I usually wear high-rise jeans, but I make an exception for these amazing J Brands.Available in sizes 23 to 32.
These tight, almost-skinny jeans are so flattering and perfect for nights out when looser pairs just won’t do.Available in sizes 24 to 32.
I have this exact cut in the leather pants version, and they fit just perfectly.Available in sizes 24 to 32.
These are a top contender for my favorite black jeans ever. The rise is high, but it’s not too high, and I never even had to hem them. They also can almost function as a casual trouser thanks to their pure black wash.Available in sizes 23 to 32.
The key to a good “mom” jean is 100% cotton, and Topshop’s nailed it.Available in sizes 24 to 34.
I have these in burgundy and they’re the perfect length for wearing with mid heels.Available in sizes 24 to 30.
These are sold out in most sizes, but if you happen to be a 30 or 31, I suggest buying them immediately because they’re my go-to pair when I want something not-too-tight but still polished.Available in sizes 30 and 31.
For black jeans you don’t feel weird wearing in the summer, look no further than these beauties.Available in sizes 25 to 30.
I’ve had these jeans for two years now, and they somehow feel as trend-forward as ever.Available in sizes 23 to 32.
Another great wash of the Levi’s wedgie jeans I love so much.Available in sizes 24 to 32.
I love the fit and slight flare of these Mother jeans.Available in sizes 24 to 32.
Now that you’ve got the jeans, shop the shoe trend I suggest wearing with them this season.
Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here at Who What Wear, and she is currently Editor-at-Large. It was a less expected route, seeing as she was graduating from business school at USC when this all began, but it has turned out to be the best one for her. Fast-forward to 2024, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was an intern starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to classic pieces and neutral basics but will always make an exception for something colorful, printed, or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a good party is dressing up for one. On weekdays, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious for dinner and trying to force her husband to watch Summer House.
