In the blink of an eye, it's almost August, which means it's practically September, which means it's basically October. I don't know about you, but I'm teetering on the edge at the thought of having to revamp my whole wardrobe as temperatures start cooling down. While transitional weather dressing can be some of the easiest to dress for, in my opinion, it's some of the hardest to buy: with every single brand and retailer offering their take on timeless basics and elevated fall pieces, how can one possibly chose the best cardigan out of the hundreds on the market? The answer: you have a friend (me!) go in, try them all on, and give you the low-down.

Now that Nordstrom's anniversary sale is in full swing with deals lasting up until August 6, I headed on over to the flagship New York City to check out some of the best cant-miss deals on fall essentials like jeans, jackets, knits, and tops. After spending an afternoon trying on a ridiculous amount of clothing, I'm happy to report these 15 on-sale Nordstrom finds are by far the best. You're welcome!

Below, shop all of my outfits that are perfect for in-between seasons and fall weather. From adorable ballet flats to French girl-approved jeans, I'd run to grab these before the sale ends. Plus, shop more of my favorite pieces from the Nordstrom anniversary sale, too.

You know when you have an outfit that just feels like home? This is it for me: a button-down shirt, wide-leg jeans, cute ballet flats and a basic tank. I've worn a combination of this outfit at least dozens of times in the spring, and I'm happy to bring it back in the fall—especially for the days that are just warm enough you don't need a coat.

I've heard so much about Vince's discounted pieces during the Nordstrom anniversary sale, so I made a beeline to the brand when I first went into the store. It's safe to say I'm not disappointed. I tried on a grey-on-grey look from the brand that's perfect for the office. Not only are the knit top and cigarette pants extremely comfortable, but you can just tell they're made of some of the highest quality materials. Plus, this little black basic bag makes a perfect addition to it. When temperates get lower, throw a simple black long-line coat on top to keep warm.

On particularly warm fall evenings, I usually have an outfit recipe down pat: a basic cotton dress, some sort of jean jacket, and trendy accessories. While i've got my fair-share of favorite bags and and shoes, I'm itching to find a new basic go-to dress. this light grey midi dress is seemingly perfect, especially paired with a classic denim trucker jacket like the one above.

In my book, there's nothing more comfortable than a well worn-in pair of jeans and cozy cardigan. Thanks to this cashmere and wool-blend cardigan from Vince and these flared jeans from 7 For All Mankind, I'm practically set for fall. It's the perfect outfit to run errands in, or, if you're feeling fancy, throw on a pair of heels with and go out to your favorite restaurant.

While lighter-colored blazers are typical with summer, taupe colors are year-round in my book. If you're looking for a no-frills, simple outfit, I have to suggest this one—it's by far the best one I tried on. From these light-wash Good American jeans to the cinnamon-colored ribbed tank, this look is a toned-down spin on the classic blazer-and-bottom combination.
