10 Coconut Perfumes That Smell Like an Expensive Vacation (and Not Sunscreen)
Sign me up.
I don't know about you, but I love using beauty products that make me feel like I'm on a constant vacation. IMHO, spritzing on a balmy, aromatic fragrance is one of the easiest ways to do so. Your sense of smell can evoke so many memories, or it can help you tap into your inner dreamer to imagine you're somewhere else completely. There's one note in particular that instantly makes me think I'm lounging on a hammock in a tropical location.
Sweet, creamy, and musky, notes of coconut in any type of perfume always make my nose perk up. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, because, if done incorrectly, it can smell too much like you're wearing sunscreen. But when combined with the right notes, it's a perfume wearer's ultimate paradise. Even if you don't like coconut-heavy scents, there's still one on this list I'm sure you will love. I've rounded up the best coconut perfumes, from strongly scented to subtle AF. Keep scrolling and find the one for you.

The Best Coconut Perfumes of 2026
1. Best Overall Coconut Perfume: Vacation Eau de Toilette
I adore this tropical vacation–inspired scent. Sure, it has a hint of that coconutty, banana-like sunscreen scent, but it's so elevated that it doesn't smell like actual sunscreen. Mostly, it just evokes a lot of happy memories at the beach for me, and I'm planning to wear it exclusively on my next vacation.
Pros: smells like a tropical vacation, uplifting notes
Cons: not very long-lasting
Key notes: petitgrain essence, coconut water, coconut milk, bergamot, solar musk, banana, pineapple
Size: 1 oz.
Customer Review: "The best way I can describe this perfume...it reminds me of when I go on vacation, and I walk into the shops at the resorts. The doors are open, and you catch a breeze that picks up the ocean air, mixes it with the flowers and foliage outside, and hits the product scents in the shop, all mixed together. And when you get home you wish you could have bottled those scents into a fragrance!!....well this is it. Only wish it came in a larger size...but definitely worth it. Trust me, buy it!!"
2. Best Tropical: Skylar Coconut Cove Eau de Parfum
Skylar's take on a coconut fragrance has to be one of my favorites. It is very coconutty, so it may not be for those who like that note to be a bit subtler, but it really does evoke the feeling of a breezy tropical cove. To me, the additional notes of jasmine, hibiscus nectar, lemon, and coastal woods are just magical and make me smell fresh anytime, anywhere.
Pros: breezy, tropical scent, floral notes
Cons: coconut notes may be too overwhelming for some
Key notes: bergamot, coconut, ambrox
Size: 1.7 oz.
Customer Review: "I love this perfume I have bad eczema and this product doesn’t irritate my skin. It’s definitely more of a summer scent, it smells like coconuts at the beach."
3. Best Vanilla-Infused: Mugler Alien Goddess Eau de Parfum
Alien Goddess is another general favorite of mine, but I was pleasantly surprised when I learned it has notes of coconut in the mix too. This is a good option for those who just like a hint of coconut, as the other notes of vanilla, jasmine, and bergamot are a bit more prominent.
Pros: warm, floral scent
Cons: coconut notes are subtle
Key notes: bergamot essence, jasmine grandiflorum, bourbon vanilla, coconut
Size: 2 oz.
Customer Review: "After using several samples of this, I had to buy it. Smells so good and the bottle is beautiful!"
4. Best for Layering: Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Milk Eau Gourmande
This Laura Mercier fragrance was a random find for me, but now, I can't imagine my perfume collection without it. I'm a sucker for a fragrance with almond notes in it (Dior's Hypnotic Poison has been a favorite of mine for ages), and this scent features both that and creamy coconut as top notes. It's definitely a sweeter, muskier coconut scent, but it smells divine, and I always receive at least a few compliments when I wear it out.
Pros: Additional almond notes, muskier notes
Cons: Expensive
Key notes: almond, coconut, vanilla, heliotrope, musk
Size: 1.7 oz.
Customer Review: "It’s my absolute favorite scent ever! I receive so many compliments from both women and men! Love it!!"
5. Best Genderless Scent: Maison Margiela Replica Beach Walk Eau de Toilette
The name of this luscious Maison Margiela fragrance says it all. It was inspired by the salty air and sunshine present on a beach getaway. Notes of heliotrope, coconut milk, and bergamot evoke a soft, airy scent that's totally intoxicating.
Pros: Evokes the feeling of a beach day, soft, airy scent
Cons: Not as long-lasting
Key notes: bergamot, heliotrope, coconut milk
Size: 1 oz.
Customer Review: "A super nice employee at Sephora helped me to choose this brand and I am happy she did it! This brand is amazing. This product is great, Stays on for hours and hours. 5/5."
6. Best Budget: Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar Perfume
Featuring a warm blend of ambrosial coconut, vanilla, and earthy vetiver, this offers a beautiful, rich, and exotic scent that I'd 100% wear daily. The $22 price tag also doesn't hurt. It's inexpensive yet smells completely luxurious.
Pros: Affordable, warm, earthy, and fruity
Cons: Not as long-lasting
Key notes: ambrosial coconut, vanilla, vetiver
Size: 1 oz.
Customer Review: "This smells soooo good! The bottle is smaller than the picture makes it out to be so definitely look at ounces! But it's worth every spray especially for the price point. It's my favorite scent I've purchased off Amazon without being able to smell it first and just based on reviews and scent descriptions. Light orange candy scent but it lingers well on clothes and hair! Will definitely purchase again!"
7. Best Solar Scent: Clean Reserve Solar Bloom Eau de Parfum
With sparkling citrus and fresh floral notes, this Clean Reserve fragrance is so vibrant and crisp. Coconut water sits at the base and adds a delicious touch of sweetness that instantly transports you to a remote tropical island.
Pros: fresh, sparkly notes, clean scent
Cons: coconut notes aren't as strong
Key notes: bergamot, orange blossom, coconut water
Size: 3.4 oz.
Customer Review: "Stunning scent! Creamy orange mixed with coconut makes for the perfect vacation scent! Any time I wear this, I'm transported to a beach vacation—toes in the sand, big sun hat on, and wearing a bright bathing suit! Gorgeous scent."
8. Best Splurge: D.S. & Durga Radio Bombay Eau de Parfum
For those who are into headier woody fragrances, Radio Bombay is the one for you. It was the first D.S. & Durga scent I'd ever tried, and to this day, it's still my favorite. According to the brand, it was inspired by the heat of the Bandra area in Mumbai and evokes the feeling of a radio playing in a small shop in the busy city. It's truly gender-neutral but strikes the perfect balance between woody, creamy, and musky.
Pros: woody, musky, subtle notes of coconut
Cons: not as long-lasting
Key notes: cedar, sandalwood, peach, iris, coconut, ambergris, balsam fir, ambrette, musk
Size: 1.7 oz.
Customer Review: "Love this scent! Anyone can wear it. Though I do wish it lasted longer throughout the day, it still is worth the purchase!"
9. Best Warm: Heretic Dirty Coconut Eau de Parfum
This is another coconut-heavy scent infused with coconut flesh, toasted coconut husk, exotic woods, and warm vanilla. It's a relaxing scent that makes me feel like I'm lounging at a hotel rooftop pool, and surprisingly, it isn't overpowering.
Pros: heavy coconut notes, warm vanilla
Cons: not as long-lasting
Key notes: cedar, vanillin, coconut water
Size: 0.5 oz.
Customer Review: "Heretic is for those that truly understand fragrance. Dirty Coconut is unlike the typical, basic coconut scents on the market. Sophisticated and mysterious."
10. Best Fruity: Sol de Janeiro Rio Radiance Perfume Mist
This body mist from Sol de Janeiro is a classic summer fragrance. It's floral, beachy, and sweet but with a hint of coconut. It's light enough so that it's not overwhelming, but not strong to the point where you'll find it overwhelming. Like many other scents from the brand, this one is sophisticated enough to wear on a night out when you want to bring the vacation vibes with you.
Pros: floral, beachy, and fruity scent, large bottle size
Cons: doesn't last as long
Key notes: solar tuberose, leite de coco, creamy vanilla
Size: 8.1 oz.
Customer Review: "Rio Radiance is a fantastic summer fragrance. The smell is so amazing that it's like a fresh beach scent while also smelling classy at the same time. Sol de Janiero parfume mists are hard to resist because of their very reasonable price and very high quality. They are very unique, something that fullfill this niche market and their are much stronger than usual body sprays. I highly recommend it."
