Seriously, Zara's New-In Section Is So Good Right Now
Out of all the shops on the high street, it's fair to say that Zara has been the ruling monarch when it comes to expensive-looking staples. It has a knack for being able to glean inspiration from the latest trends, but interpreting them in a way that feels chic and undeniably timeless. This has certainly been helped along by the industry's recent fascination for all things minimalist, an aesthetic which lends itself to longevity.
In summary? The year 2020 is all about the elevated staple. These are items that you can happily wear at home with slippers as you can with a smart jacket and heels. I'm thinking sculptural shirt dresses, knitted tank tops, throw-on midis and puff-sleeved shirts. They look good, work hard and are easy to style. What more could you want?
The key is to shop smart: The benefit of browsing from the comfort of your sofa is that you can inspect you wardrobe and work out where the gaps are. Ask yourself: Do I already have something similar in my wardrobe? Can I rework an old favourite to create the same effect? Can I wear this at least five different ways? If, after considering these questions, you still want to make a new investment, then make sure it's something you really love and will still love in 12 months' time.
Luckily, Zara's new in drop is packed-full with hard-working gems. So if you need a bit of a helping hand with knowing where to start, I've created an edit of the pieces that have caught my eye this season. Scroll down to see what I found.
