If You Only Buy One Summer Accessory, It Should Be This

Does shopping suddenly feel overwhelming? I, for one, bought far less clothing and accessories over the past year. So it's not that I forgot how to shop per se—it's just that I forgot how to reign it in and curate my wish list down to only the essentials. I've come to the conclusion that I don't need every single new item just because I have actual plans to leave my apartment on a regular basis now. (Shocker, I know!) Rather, all I need are the key pieces that I can wear with items I already own.

Take sunglasses, for example: They're not only necessary (I live in Los Angeles after all); they're also an accessory that can instantly take an outfit to the next level. I've got my eyes on the latest Millie Bobby Brown x Vogue Eyewear collection filled with all the best eyewear trends. At first, I wondered if I was biased because she's one of my favorite celebs, but it turns out fashion people from L.A. to N.Y. are also shopping the chic collab. Scroll for proof on why these sunnies are a must and shop all the styles that are conveniently available at Sunglass Hut.

If you're familiar with Kayla Seah, then you already know that she gives a whole new meaning to chic style. Her looks are always polished, wearable, and filled with plenty of neutrals, so I'm not surprised her favorite pair from the MBB x Vogue Eyewear collection is this black square-frame style. Chunkier frames are having a moment right now, and after seeing this pair on Seah, it's extremely clear why. "I usually wear black structured frames with the smallest bit of cat eye," she says about her eyewear selection. "I find they are the most versatile and can instantly make a casual look feel elevated."

Here Seah styles her thick lenses with an oversize blazer, trend-forward split-leg trousers, and chunky slides—the perfect look for transitioning into summer. She tells me she's really into pairing something oversize with something a little more sleek and structured, but it's all about the accessories when it comes to pulling the look together. "To me, sunglasses finish off every look—I feel naked without them!" she says. "They just add the perfect amount of drama to my outfits."

Tenicka Boyd on the other hand is rarely seen in an outfit that doesn't include a pop of bold color (at the very least). She typically takes has a more-is-more mentality, so I just knew she would opt for these lilac lenses in the fun round shape. When I ask Boyd about her approach to fashion she says, "I want to constantly disrupt the narrative that you can’t be chic in color. I want to invite women to live a more colorful life!"

Unlike Seah, Boyd pairs her tailored separates with colorful sunglasses and footwear. "This color reminds me of the lavender fields in the South of France, which is where I want to be right now," she tells me, laughing. "Also this pair of sunglasses is so summer-read,y and can be dressed up or down," she continues. As a fashion editor, I'm all about versatility and am already picturing myself wearing these cute frames with all of the casual summer dresses I just bought. Sold.
