Known for balancing her Scandinavian heritage with '90s references and a touch of romanticism, Roe is weighing in with her essential buys of the season and sharing details about her just-launched homeware collection.
"The way I shop never changes with the seasons," Roe tells Who What Wear. "My approach always stays the same. I look for timelessness, pieces of which I can mix in new ways by combining texture and textile, versatility, and sustainability. Sustainability is all about buying less by buying right." This approach to shopping can be seen in Roe's seasonal picks, including pieces such as a leather weekender bag intended for use everywhere from the office to the airport, an elegant maxi dress that can transition from winter to summer depending on the styling, and decorative pieces for the home that elevate ordinary everyday objects.
Roe's approach to shopping for timeless fashion pieces also translates to home décor and is something she considered when designing a tableware collection with her mother, designer Louise Roe—the first time the mother-daughter pair has teamed up on a design collaboration. "My mother and I collaborate in numerous aspects of life, especially business. We are both so devoted to our passion, mine being fashion and my mother's being interior design," Roe explains. "Both our creative languages focus on materials and are appertain to our Scandinavian heritage, but I think I am probably more French than my mother in our approach aesthetically, and my mother [is] sharp and Nordic. I believe this combination made our collection harmonious and collaboration exciting." Their blended aesthetics are apparent in pieces like the artisanal bowl inspired by vintage glassware and ceramic dessert plates that have been turned by hand. "The world of interior design is slow and does not rely on seasons. It's meant to last for years and sometimes throughout generations," she adds.
