Whoa: 40,000 Pairs of These $30 Jeans Are Sold Every Day

Some of my stories cover fun trends like shoe straps tied over pants and bikinis as tops, but I like to balance those out with articles about universal pieces that aren't quite as tricky to try—and skinny jeans definitely fall into the latter category. Practical, easy to wear, comfortable, and extremely versatile, skinny jeans are pretty much a godsend.

The only caveat? Designer versions that celebrities love often come with price tags hovering in the $200 range, but they're far from the only options. Today, I opened an email that contained a bold statement: Old Navy asserts that 40,000 pairs of its Rockstar Skinny Jeans are sold every single day. Let that sink in for a minute. They come in a ton of different colorways and sizes, so it's a safe bet that fans of the jeans own multiple pairs. The jeans even got their own honorary Walk of Fame star, and Chloe and Halle Bailey were on hand to celebrate, showing off how good the jeans look IRL. Scroll down to shop the jeans, which will be on sale for just $15 on Saturday, September 21, for one day only.

Erin Fitzpatrick
Senior News Editor

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 12 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of senior news editor (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
