It's that time of year when retailers are shoving all their new fall pieces down your throat, and the options can be overwhelming, to say the least. If you're pondering which pieces are truly worth the investment for the new season, allow Anna Wintour to help. In the newest video for her Go Ask Anna series, Wintour was asked what she thinks is the accessory of the season, and she was quick to reply.

"The accessory of the season has to be the boot," Wintour says in the video. "Short boots, long boots, mid-calf boots, any kind of boots. Suede, leather, canvas, printed, plain—it's your choice." So there you have it: Boots should be the number one accessory you spend your money on for fall. Of course, Wintour herself is a huge proponent of boots and wears them to all the shows in the winter.

Speaking of fashion week, Wintour also was asked in the video if it's as glamorous as it seems. "Fashion week, fashion month, fashion year is a lot of work, but the minute you see a great show, you see new talent, or a wonderful new model, everything becomes worth it," she replied. Erin Fitzpatrick
Senior News Editor

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 12 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of senior news editor (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
