I've heard there are 50 new brands in the sale this year, which I know you helped curate. Which brands should our listeners be looking out for?
You're right. We are debuting more than 50 brands this sale, including customer favorites. It's a robust list, but brands like Reformation, Staud, Primary for kids, Flamingo Estate, Claire V, Lola Blankets, Ana Luisa—I can keep going—Favorite Daughter, Madewell, The Great. It's a long list, and I know I just did a very dramatic read, but we're so excited about so many new brands… and the beauty here is we really focused on those well-known iconic items. So for Reformation, we love them for their dresses, and we made sure that the best wedding guest dresses are on sale. With a brand like Flamingo State, they're obviously known for their beautiful home fragrances, and we have exclusive sets on sale.
Tell me about some of the key fall trends we can find during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
This year, we're really, really excited about color, that freedom to mix and match and color-block. And texture, of course, is really becoming a way to add interest to an outfit, whether it's suede, fur, or woven straw. And [we're] really thinking about color in terms of green as a new neutral and ziger print as an animal print that's as easy to wear as leopard print.
If someone wants to purchase something right now for summer, what should they buy from the sale?
Oh, my goodness—we have so many options. One of the beauties of this event and this landmark year for [Nordstrom] is that we're making it bigger and better, so top of mind is the layering idea and being able to bring in those lightweight knits and tees. I love this idea of the layered striped tee. We have great options to buy now, wear now, and then put a sweater over it when it gets cold.
