If it isn't happening already, prepare to see European vacations on your social media feeds all summer long. Unfortunately, I won't be contributing to the wave of Italian Riviera content, but a girl can dream. I'm already living vicariously through my favorite creators and adding a slew of photos to my mood board to at least create the feeling of an Italian summer. One of the creators dominating my mood board at the moment is Carolina Freixa, whose style revolves around on-trend basics. She's constantly serving as inspo for my next trip to Miami, but lately, her outfits are transporting me to the beautiful streets of Italy, and it would be a shame if I didn't share them with you. Of course, I asked Freixa for her outfit details, and I wasn't surprised to hear that all of her shoes were from Vince Camuto. This tried and true brand has always kept a special place in my closet, and now I have to make more room because I definitely want all of Freixa's shoes below. If you want to start preparing for your summer 2023 trip (real or imaginary), just keep scrolling.

One of the main components of Italian-girl style is effortlessness. "When I think of Italian-girl style, I think of flowy, fun, chic, and comfortable," Freixa tells me. Breezy dresses, light makeup, stacked jewelry, and interesting fabrics are at the core of this aesthetic, and Freixa included them all in this look. "The dress is super elegant and paired with the sandal for an everyday comfortable outfit," she says. This flat, cross-strap sandal is the perfect addition to a rather formal slip dress for a day of sightseeing on Rome's cobblestone streets or Venice's chic gondola rides. But no matter what's on your summer itinerary, you'll want to wear a pair of shoes that your feet won't be begging you to take off.

What's vacation without a matching set? I'm not sure what we were wearing before they took over the racks at our favorite clothing stores and became our go-to outfit formula, but I never want to go back. "This matching set is perfect for a beachy, coastal vibe. The sandal wedges elevate the look and make it so you can go from beach to dinner," Freixa says. The perforated fabric and cropped silhouette are breathable and lightweight for Italy's hottest days, and the wedges just scream summer. Wedges are making a huge comeback in 2023, just in time for our favorite season: Italian-girl summer. Freixa always prioritizes comfort directly after style and says that she "can always count on these wedges to not hurt my feet at the end of the day."

If you were able to look inside your favorite content creator's carry-on bag, I'm 99.9% sure you'd find this exact outfit recipe: sleek trousers and an off-the-shoulder crop top. "The white, frilly top gives that outfit a fun and flirty feel while still being mature and sophisticated with the black slacks and slip-on heels," Freixa says. The eyelet detail and ruffles embody Italian style to a T, but when you wear this top with these mules, the look is quite literally taken to new heights. The sculptural heel and quilted cross strap are the perfect finishing touch to this chic ensemble.
