Easy, Effortless, Elegant—The Best Pieces in My Summer Wardrobe All Come From This Timeless Brand
Summer is finally here, and my warm-weather wardrobe relies on a mix of light dresses and hard-working staples. Here's how I found everything I needed from The White Company's Holiday Edit.

Join me in a sigh of collective relief: it's finally summer. For the next three months, the majority of my plans will revolve around soaking up the sun at every opportunity, but with long, hot days and balmy evenings comes the question: what exactly should I wear?
As a fashion editor, I give my daily outfits a lot of thought, not just in terms of how they look (though that is a priority), but also how they will perform. Summer calls for lightweight, breathable fabrics that are comfortable all day, and as much as I love statement dressing, my choices have to be wearable too. Enter The White Company's Summer Shop.

If, like me, you're always on a quest to shop smarter and not harder, The White Company should be your first stop for timeless pieces of premium quality that are built to last and last. Gone are my days of spontaneously buying cheap sandals and swimwear that will only see me through one summer. Instead, I've decided to focus on a capsule wardrobe of mix-and-match pieces that I'll wear for years to come, and which still look just as good as when I first bought them.
With packing for my summer holidays in mind, I set about putting together four looks that would work for the city, beach and country with only the change of a shoe. Whether your plans consist of staycations, long-haul trips or simply making the most of sitting alfresco in your own back garden, I'm so confident that there are pieces in the Holiday Shop you're going to love that I'm sharing some of my favourites to inspire your own outfits too. From airy skirts to day-to-night dresses, these are the summer staples that deserve a spot in your wardrobe (and suitcase, too).

Style Notes: Monochrome dressing doesn't have to be "boring", and this ensemble is a case in point. Teaming what could be considered an evening top with a beachy skirt is the perfect high/low mix that ends up somewhere between a garden party and a holiday lunch. Mixing textures like jacquard cotton with gauzy ramie adds interest to the subdued colour palette, but it's the structure and silhouette that make this pairing feel really special. For more coverage, you could always change the skirt for a linen trouser, but I love the breezy lightness of the maxi with a smart sandal. This is one easy-to-replicate look guaranteed to invite compliments.

Style Notes: I think we can all agree that you can never go wrong with dresses in summer; they're the easiest instant outfit you can have in your roster. Even though I immediately fall for every white cotton dress in sight as soon as the season changes, this black dress caught and held my attention for the detailing alone. No, this isn't your average vest dress; the ruched drop-waist fits and flares in all the right places, creating the illusion of a well-matched tank and skirt without the need to dig around in your wardrobe. Dresses like this are always a fixture in my rotation for their versatility, and whilst I'd happily wear this throughout the day with ballet flats for a nod to the Riviera trend, it goes just as well with a strappy heel and statement earrings for evening plans too.

Style Notes: Given just how unpredictable the British summer can be, I keep an emergency layer with me at all times. Leather and wool feel far too heavy for warm weather, and denim can be a little dated, so this parka is ideal for folding down into your basket bag or throwing on over your outfit when the temperatures drop. Unlike shiny waterproofs, this is crafted from soft linen, so it's not only practical, but it feels premium, too. There aren't many outfits that wouldn't work with such a versatile jacket (imagine it with high-waisted jeans and sandals), but my favourite idea is to team it with the same sheer skirt (as above) for a weekend spent enjoying the countryside. If you were looking for a summer outfit that is both fashionable and functional, you just found it.

Style Notes: Okay, now this is exactly how I want to dress on summer evenings. This structured trapeze dress manages to be both low-effort and high-impact, creating an elegant silhouette roomy enough to stay cool but dramatic enough to feel polished too. It's not often you find pieces that manage to toe the line between elegant daywear and evening-ready, but this delivers for every dress code (pun very much intended). With sandals dressy enough to be considered the perfect finishing touch (the toe rings really are jewellery in themselves), I kept the rest of the look clean and pared-back to let the details do the talking.
