5 Stylish Ways Our Editors Are Wearing Their Favorite Fall Sweaters

Sponsor Content Created With Banana Republic

All the Ways to Wear is a monthly series where we round up the personal twists the Who What Wear team is putting on one particular item, style, or trend. Whether it's the trending denim of the moment or the season's It print, we hope to inspire your daily outfits and up the cost per wear on some of our favorite items.

One of the most exciting things about entering a cooler season is the slew of sweaters sweeping the nation. I’ve mentioned this before, but I’ll say it again for all the people in the back: Banana Republic is my go-to for finding fall staples like classic knits, and I guess I am not alone. My co-workers were quick to tell me that, much to my chagrin, I wasn’t part of some best-kept secret and they also frequent the site for their wardrobe staples.

This season, we’re all (surprise) on the hunt for elevated and stylish knits we can layer with other pieces that already exist in our wardrobe. Between the five of us, we covered every knit top you need to own this season and we're showing you how to style them here, so you can wear them, too.

The Knit Polo

I can never get tired of black and white outfits and neither can my colleague Michaela. What I truly love about this ensemble is that Michalea opted away from styling this outfit with a cotton button-down and swapped in a knit polo. With a gold chain and structured blazer, this outfit has fall 2020 written all over it.

The Classic Boatneck

My co-worker and (former) deskmate Anna is seriously the queen of classic cool, so when she tells me she’s opting for a boatneck sweater for fall, I opt for a boatneck sweater, too. This look is giving me French-girl-meets-'90s-model-off-duty vibes, and I am here for it. If you love this look as much as I do, consider picking up these Banana Republic boots while you’re at it for the full effect.

The Bordeaux Turtleneck

Natalie, who is already feeling the cooler temps in Williamsburg, is finding new ways to incorporate burgundy and brown into her wardrobe. By tucking in this lightweight turtleneck from Banana Republic into her wrap skirt, Natalie managed to create an outfit that can easily be worn with sneakers (like she did here) or with a pair of on-trend tall rain boots.

The Long Cardigan

Oh hi, me here. I’ve long been a fan of cardigans: long, short, cropped, duster—you name it, and it’s probably in my closet. This season, I found this extra-soft and extra-luxe cardigan from Banana Republic to style with a ribbed-knit turtleneck top I also picked from its extensive collection. I styled this knit duo with my favorite pair of ivory jeans and strappy heels, both of which I'll wear to buy my groceries. (I miss wearing heels, okay?)

The Pink Crewneck

Finally, our copy editor Aralyn told me that a classic crewneck sweater is her knit style of choice for fall. If, like myself, you’re looking for new color combinations to try this season, consider a soft-pink knit to take the edge off your black demin. This miniskirt outfit reminds me of '60s yé-yé girls, and snakeskin slides make it the perfect outfit to transition into a full fall wardrobe.

Nayiri is Who What Wear's senior fashion editor for branded content and based in her hometown, Los Angeles. It all began in 2014 when she landed an internship at the company and never looked back. While she does love writing her fair share of fashion stories, her heart really belongs in the brainstorm room, where she has fun strategizing different ways to create content with our fashion partners so that you engage with the brands you know and love. Her style tends to be more classic (she loves a good black-and-white look with gold accessories), and white pumps are kind of her thing. If she had to pick one person's wardrobe to raid, it would be Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's, and she also has a major obsession with interior design. She's a mom to a 1-year-old baby girl named Sophie, and she fully plans on training her to spot fashion trends by the time she's 10. That's all!
