18 Under-$50 Pieces I'm Buying to Revamp My Fall Look

Los Angeles is a wonderful place to live for a lot of reasons, but experiencing a true fall season is not one of them. My weather app shows 80 degrees for the foreseeable future, making it a bit of an awkward time to go full force into fall shopping. I'm naturally too excited to wait any longer, though, and honestly would rather sweat in my boots than wear sandals another day (just me?), so my plan is to revamp my wardrobe with a few affordable pick-me-ups while I wait for cooler temps to hit. These 18 pieces are getting me through the month and they all cost $50 or less. Regret-free shopping, anyone?

Tops

Get double the use out of your cardigans by wearing them as a top with nothing underneath.

This off-the-shoulder top is way cooler than your classic button-down.

So this top is technically a bodysuit, but it's also technically the perfect ribbed knit longsleeve.

This leopard-print shirt looks super cool with black skinny jeans or leather pants.

The only annoying thing about this cropped sweater is that it doesn't come in more colors.

Meet your new go-to date night top.

Bottoms

Move over, velvet, corduroy has arrived.

If fall 2017 was all about the plaid blazer, then fall 2018 is all about the plaid pant.

Pair these animal print denim with sweaters, graphic-tees, knit tanks, and so much more.

Swap out your midi slip skirt with this knit one for the win.

It's time to move our light-wash jeans to the back of our closets and shop for darker-hued pairs like these classic straight-leg ones.

Fall bag ????????????#longchamp

This handbag looks five times its price and instantly makes any outfit look so much chicer.

For those days when you need something slightly more elevated than sneakers.

Trust me, tortoiseshell is basically a neutral.

Wear these with sneakers to get that NYC cool-girl look.

These snakeskin booties surprisingly match so many other prints.

Cher Horowitz would definitely wear this scarf.
