Leather
Leather continues to reign supreme as one of the biggest fabric trends of 2020. We saw it in abundance on the S/S and F/W 20 runways, and the fashion crowd can't seem to get enough of the sumptuous look. Whether you opt for colorful leather or versatile neutrals, it's by far one of the best fabric trends you can invest in this year.
Shop the trend:
Suede
Continuing in the leather family, soft and fuzzy suede is having a major moment in 2020—inspired by the '70s vibes we saw all over the runways. We've spotted the fabric predominantly on skirts and jackets, adding an expensive-looking touch to basics.
Shop the trend:
Satin
Satin is one of our favorite fabrics for evening affairs, providing a lustrous touch that looks elegant and expensive. The shiny fabric was seen in all colors on the runways, from fiery red to muted pastels and tonal blues.
Shop the trend:
Sequins
If you think glitzy sequins were solely reserved for holiday parties, think again. The S/S 20 runways pleasantly surprised us with sparkle and shine, from colorful sequin suits to metallic skirts (paired with basic tees and sandals) and shimmering accessories. The trend shows no signs of slowing down for fall and winter either with high-shine pieces popping up on some of the biggest F/W 20 runways.
Shop the trend:
Crochet
Crochet fabric is one of 2020's unexpected newcomers, seen in full force on the spring runways from major designers such as Fendi and Ferragamo. Anything goes with the beatnik fabric this year. Wear it in all colors, as dresses, separates, or as part of a matching set.
Shop the trend:
Vintage-Inspired Denim
This year, it's all about denim that exudes an upcycled, lived-in vibe. If they look like they could have been pulled straight out of a thrift store, then you've nailed the trend.
