I'm Not Allowed Any More Shoes This Season, But Someone Needs to See These
It's been a very curated shoe life for me of late. If you need context, peep this story about how I culled my fall and winter footwear to just five(!) pairs. About 90% of the time, I'm thrilled with that kind of minimalism—in theory. About 10% of the time, it's just me wondering why there would be so many lovely pairs of shoes if I'm not allowed to buy any of them until spring.
Let's take a bit of that energy and direct it into something productive, shall we? There are loads and loads of great shoes on offer right now, and because I'm not buying any of them, there are more for you. I'm including plenty of flats because we're still hot on that shoe trend. I'd personally call it a lifestyle choice, but I digress. I also have a fab little collection of very special heels that deserve your attention, and lots of black styles at the request of one practical friend out there who's on the hunt for the perfect pair. Let's roll.
I'm truly not a big ballet-flats person, but The Row can convince me of all sorts of things.
If you're trying really hard not to just buy another pair of Sambas.
I feel like I'm not allowed to say "quiet luxury" anymore, but these just are.
Super-strappy, baby-buckled slingbacks continue to be a big vibe.
Another option just in case those were just a little too strappy for you.
When your low-key winter outfit just needs a big pop of color.
I do like that these come up a little higher than your average ballet flats.
Since we're all abuzz after the Jacquemus show.
Natalie leads the style direction for the all content we create in partnership with our friends at various brands plus the legendary team of editors who work on those shoots and stories. She loves collaborating and storytelling, so it's a really fun role for her. It's also the first full-time job she's ever had! She started out in her career as a very mediocre model who agreed to her first styling job to impress a photographer she had a crush on, which led her down a happy path of contributing to Vogue Australia and working as a stylist, fashion writer, and creative director for all sorts of brands and titles. She has a bachelor of communications, but most of her career opportunities came up thanks to some fleeting and accidental street style moments. She's been at Who What Wear for three and a half years and still loves to work as a freelance consultant with brands and designers to shoot their campaigns in NYC. She's originally from New Zealand, and Bondi Beach is her second home, but like just about every other 20-something, she fell in love with New York at some point. She lives in Williamsburg with her fiancé and their weird little dog, Ruby. If you ever need reccies for feel-good fashion, legit coffee spots, politics podcasts, or non-intimidating yoga studios, she's very much your girl.
