I'm Usually Underwhelmed by "PerfumeTok," But This New Perfume Really Impressed
Don't get me wrong. #PerfumeTok can be a gold mine when it comes to discovering new fragrances. You may even have begun a love affair with scents like Baccarat Rouge 540 or YSL Libre because of it—I'm not hating! I will say, however, that there are a few scents I've discovered while browsing this niche section of TikTok that I was underwhelmed by—sorry. Fragrance is so truly one of the most subjective and personal things. Some might hate a scent while others fall head over heels for it.
I can at least say that underwhelming feeling didn't extend to my latest discovery from viral TikTok brand Eauso Vert. You may already be familiar with its top scent, Purple Noon ($185), which is so beloved by TikTok users that it's often sold out. But the brand just released a new offering called Fruto Oscuro that you should definitely consider adding to your arsenal.
Key notes: Capulin, zapote, pink pepper, elemi, davana, clove stem, black pepper, frankincense, upcycled patchouli heart, guaiac wood, blackberry
This earthy and slighty fruity scent is rife with juicy notes like patchouli, blackberry, and clove stem. What initially drew me in were the notes of frankincense and guaiac wood—two powerful notes that I normally wouldn't even think to pair together. Frankincense is usually reserved for my essential oil diffuser (it's super relaxing and great for meditation), but adding it to this particular scent almost has the same soothing effect. Guaiac wood is both a smoky and slightly sweet wood. When blended with other notes like patchouli, pink pepper, and frankincense, it creates such a comforting scent that I want to have on me all the time.
It's hard to really describe the unique quality of this fragrance, but it almost smells like a warm forest with fruit trees—trust me, it smells delicious and isn't offensive or overpowering. It may not be for everyone since it is a bit of a sweeter woody perfume, but if you're like me and have been looking for a scent that offers both lighter, fruitier notes and deeper woody notes, this is it and brings the best of both worlds.
More Eauso Vert Scents I Love
Purple Noon Eau de Parfum
Key notes: Ginger oil, coconut water, orange flower, geranium, tuberose, Musk
This scent was the first from the brand to go viral on TikTok—and for a good reason. Of all the Eauso Vert scents, this one strikes my fancy the most with notes of coconut water, orange flower, and tuberose. It's not very sweet, though, thanks to the top notes of ginger oil. It's a really pretty scent that's different when you first spray it, but the dry-down is lovely.

Sintra Eau de Parfum
Key notes: Bergamot, lemon, mimosa, lavandin, orris, sandalwood, musk
Besides Purple Noon, Sintra is my favorite Eauso Vert fragrance. Whenever I want to wear something light and fresh, I'll give this one a spritz. The notes of lemon, mimosa, and bergamot definitely make it more of a springtime scent, but I'd still wear it year-round.
You might also like:
Vanilla Embers Eau de Parfum
Key notes: Cardamom, orange flower, sandalwood, upcycled turmeric root, vanilla bean
Vanilla Embers definitely falls into the gourmand category, so if you like sweet fragrances, this one's for you! It's warm and inviting with notes of orange flower and vanilla bean, but sandalwood grounds it and keeps it from being overly saccharine. I know I keep saying this, but it's also a favorite from the brand. They're all just that good.
You might also like:
Joga Eau de Parfum
Key notes: Bergamot, cardamom, petitgrain, green mate, vetiver, white amber
Joga is a bit tangier and sharper—a perfect spring or summer fragrance. The notes of amber, green mate, and vetiver really stand out to me.

Key notes: Green pepper, pink freesia, violet leaf absolute, mimosa absolute, cucumber, bamboo, white leather, cashmeran, crisp amber
Boozy Patchouli Eau de Parfum
Key notes: Italian bergamot, lemon cedrat, pink pepper, upcycled rose, Moroccan neroli, orris, patchouli, vetiver, amber
I expected this patchouli-rich fragrance to smell sweet but was pleasantly surprised when it actually smelled a lot more earthy, woody, and spicy. This is definitely a scent for anyone who doesn't like floral or sweet notes in a fragrance. This has a really rich scent to it, but don't worry—it isn't overpowering. It still smells really light on the skin like all Eauso Vert fragrances do.
