We're High-Key Obsessed With the Street Style Accessories at Fashion Week
This May 9–17, Who What Wear Australia presents its third annual Street Style Awards, #TheStreeties, honouring the tastemakers and industry insiders whose style sets the tone and influences the world of fashion today. Last year, Chloe Hill was crowned the winner of the 2017 Street Style Awards for her ability to push boundaries with flair and colour. We can't wait to see what 2018 has in store.
We’ve been scoping the street style at Fashion Week Australia, and so far so good. On Day 1 our major focus was styling, and we were nothing short of impressed. From simple styling tricks, to unique colour pairings, the styling from Day 1 was on point (extra brownie points for those who made an umbrella part of their lewk).
Today, however, we’re taking a closer look at the accessories. Let’s be honest, accessorising can make or break an outfit—so it’s not something that should be overlooked.
Don’t forget, you can still participate in our street style awards, #TheStreeties even if you’re not attending Fashion Week Australia. Just hashtag your Instagram pic and make sure to tag us @whowhatwear.au and #TheStreeties, so that we can be sure to see it. Who knows? You may just be included in our next roundup. Now without further ado, here are the Day 2 #TheStreeties street style stars who truly rocked their accessories.
WHO: Nadia Fairfax
STYLE TIP: We love how Nadia's bright green Balenciaga bag puts an unexpected twist on her classic checked blazer, highlighting the green in her camo button-up.
WHO: Lisa Aiken
STYLE TIP: By now, it's no secret that this Staud bag is a crowd-pleaser... And we're still obsessed.
WHO: Candice Lake
STYLE TIP: This shoe/sock combo proves that sometimes more is more. Bonus points for those coordinating Fendi logos.
STYLE TIP: This colour-coordinated fur stole is perfectly balanced out by the stark white shoes and classic Gucci bag.
WHO: Kate Waterhouse
STYLE TIP: If you're not obsessed with Poppy Lissiman sunglasses by now, you're not paying attention. We love how Kate Waterhouse paired these sunnies with an already eccentric outfit for a definite "mood".
WHO: Saasha Burns
STYLE TIP: Add tinted sunnies to your outfit for a very of-the-moment look.
STYLE TIP: Choose a bag that has interesting detailing, such as this unique bamboo handle.
