I Feel Like My Outfits Have Been Mediocre Lately—These Picks Are the Antidote
Even fashion editors fall victim to hating everything in their closet. I know that I've lately felt like I'm in a bit of a rut. Perhaps it’s just a case of settling into my winter wardrobe, pieces that have sat dormant for at least six months, or simply I’m bored with the pieces I’ve been wearing on rotation. Whatever it may be, I’m ready to shake things up right now with a little infusion of fun.
The easiest way to bring a little refresh to my wardrobe is via accessories. A new handbag or sparkly pair of earrings can make even the simplest jeans and tee feel like a whole new ensemble. But I’ve also had my eye on a whole slew of new trends to incorporate into my current lineup. I know that quiet luxury has become the de facto way of dressing up of late, but I’m still partial to mixing more subdued staples with pops of color or a little sparkle. While the best antidote to feeling the dressing doldrums is using one small swap to completely reinvision the way I’m dressing, having a number of pieces that hold the power to transform means I have an infinite number of new outfits. Ahead, shop the pieces inspiring me to get excited about dressing up again, from a comfy and classic J.Crew sweater to a party dress worthy of a celebration.

The touch of preppiness this sweater offers is just what I need to style with a plaid miniskirt.

This simple nap skirt is one I'd pair with kitten heels and a button-down.

On days when I don't want to fuss with my hair, this cute hood is an alternative to a winter beanie.
I love the subtle pop of color these earrings offer.
A little ruffle detail makes a simple sweater into something totally fresh.
Mary Jane flats are a simple alternative to heels.
