I can't count the number of times I've seen someone wearing something I love, asked where it’s from, fully expecting a high-end label, only to hear those coveted words: “It’s from Zara.” The same thing happens all the time with J.Crew and H&M, too.
While it’s easy to only focus on shopping designer, moments like this always remind me not to overlook these more affordable brands. As someone who shops for a living, I know firsthand that these retailers are full of hidden gems that look way more expensive than they are.

When it's sunny, you can't go wrong with a long white dress to just throw on and get out the door. Perfect for going on long walks or lying out at the park.
My favorite thing about J.Crew is its cashmere section.
For example, one of the most-worn pieces in my closet is my black cashmere cardigan. I wear it all the time with skirts or drape it over my shoulders when I'm in dresses.
