This Is the Autumn Reset My Beauty-Editor Friends and I Are Starting Early
Boots just dropped its Autumn Beauty Reset edit, and I'm already getting into my new-season routine.
There's something about the end of summer that always makes me want to reset my beauty routine. Maybe it's the first hint of cooler mornings, or the realisation that my skin has spent months dealing with sun, heat and a fairly relaxed approach to skincare. Come autumn, I find myself craving richer textures, more comforting formulas and anything that will make my skin feel a little more looked after. The same goes for my wellness routine. As a beauty editor, I'm lucky enough to try a lot of products (and I mean a lot), so I've become pretty good at knowing when something is genuinely worth making space for and when I'm simply being distracted by a shiny new launch. This season, I'm keeping my reset fairly simple, and there's one place I always come back to for the products I want to try: Boots.
There's a reason Boots has such a loyal following amongst beauty obsessives. You can pick up your everyday essentials alongside the brands and ingredients everyone in the beauty world is talking about, without spending hours figuring out where to look. From tried-and-tested names to K-beauty favourites and newer wellness discoveries, there's a good chance you'll find something that fits into your routine—or helps you create a new one—whatever that looks like. And this season, Boots has made the process even easier with a considered edit of skincare and wellness staples that feel particularly suited to an autumn reset. It's less about starting from scratch and more about making a few smart additions.
My approach would be to resist the temptation to use everything at once. I'd start with a hydrating ampoule or serum—something like the Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Ampoule or Beauty of Joseon's Red Bean PDRN + Peptide Serum—then follow with a barrier-supporting cream such as SKIN1004 Probio-Cica Enrich Cream. On mornings when my skin needs a little extra help, Biodance Collagen Peptide Jelly Serum Mist is easy to keep nearby and spritz throughout the day, whilst Anua PDRN Caffeine Rejuvenating Eye Cream makes sense when my under-eyes are looking particularly tired. And then there's the inside-out part of my reset: I'd happily make Symprove part of my morning routine, with collagen or beauty supplements added in depending on what I need. There's no need to follow a 10-step routine, though. I'm a firm believer that the best habits are the ones you'll actually stick to, so pick and choose what works for you.
Below, I've picked some of my favourites that I'm already getting started with.

If your skin is feeling a little less resilient after summer, this is the kind of cream I'd reach for. The formula combines collagen-supporting ingredients with PDRN and a moisturising base, making it a good final step when you want your routine to feel more nourishing. I'd use it at night, particularly as the weather starts to cool, or whenever your skin needs more comfort.
Pores and uneven texture are usually higher on my skincare agenda once summer is over, and this lightweight serum is an easy way to address both without piling on lots of products. It combines plant-based Red Bean PDRN with peptides, niacinamide and ceramide NP, and has a lovely water-based texture. Apply a few drops after cleansing and before your moisturiser.
This is the one I'll keep coming back to when my skin needs hydration without a heavy layer of cream. The formula contains panthenol, betaine, hyaluronic acid and ceramide NP, so it's a good option when your complexion is feeling dry or generally a bit depleted. I like an ampoule underneath moisturiser, especially at night, but you can easily slot this into your existing serum step.
Autumn is when I start paying much more attention to my skin barrier, and this is exactly the sort of moisturiser I want around. Centella asiatica, shea butter, squalane, ceramide NP and hyaluronic acid give the formula plenty of skin-comforting ingredients, whilst the richer texture makes it so enjoyable to use when the temperature drops. I'd apply it as the last step of my evening routine, especially on drier days.
My autumn reset isn't just about what I put on my face. Symprove contains four strains of live activated cultures alongside vitamin C, and the mango and passionfruit flavour makes it easily palatable in the morning. I'll keep it somewhere I'll actually remember to take it, because, as with all wellness products, consistency is key.
There's something very satisfying about a face mist, particularly when your skin starts feeling dry halfway through the day. This one contains collagen water, niacinamide, hydrolysed hyaluronic acid and a selection of peptides, so it's a nice little hydration boost whenever your skin needs one. Keep it on your desk, in your handbag or next to your skincare shelf and spritz after cleansing or whenever your face feels dry.
If your eyes are the first place to give away that you've had a busy week, take note. This formula pairs PDRN with caffeine, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and adenosine, making it a useful addition when the eye area is looking tired or lacking hydration. Apply a small amount in the morning and evening, tapping it gently around the orbital area rather than getting too enthusiastic!
I'm always more interested in collagen supplements when the formula tells me exactly what I'm getting, and this one contains 8000mg of hydrolysed marine collagen alongside 120mg of vitamin C per sachet. It's designed to support normal collagen formation, and the individual sachets make it so easy to take whenever and wherever you are. Just remember that supplements are designed to complement a balanced diet, not replace one.
If you'd rather chew a gummy than take a capsule or tablet, this is for you. The formula contains vitamin C, zinc, selenium, vitamin E, biotin and vitamins A, B6, B12 and D3, so it covers a fairly broad range of nutrients associated with skin and general wellbeing.
This is an interesting one if your autumn reset is about more than skincare. Creaglow combines creatine monohydrate with marine collagen peptides, magnesium, calcium, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and inulin, amongst other ingredients. I'd think of this as a broader wellness addition rather than a beauty product in the traditional sense, and I like that distinction. Mix it into your routine in whatever way works for you, whether that’s alongside breakfast or after a workout.
