This Denim Trend Will Make You Rethink Your Skinny Jeans
It’s no secret that California style is synonymous with denim. It’s where many of the big denim brands are actually based, but more than that, jeans are the piece you’ll find in practically every person’s closet. So naturally, as one of Who What Wear’s L.A.-based editors, I have my eye focused closely on all things denim and the emerging trends in the world of jeans. After all, jeans are part of my regular wardrobe, so I’m always looking for cool new ways to wear them. So you can imagine my delight at discovering a new denim shape that is popping up everywhere: Baggy jeans. The silhouette isn’t one I would normally gravitate toward, but since I’ve been seeing them more and more, I’m ready to work them into my wardrobe.
I’ve been a longtime fan of skinny jeans, but I retired mine in the last few years. Instead, I’ve been wearing streamlined straight-leg styles that are a nod to the ’90s. The baggy jeans trend was also closely tied to the early ’90s (remember JNCOs?), but this time around, they’re more tailored with details like tapered angles and high-rise waists that make them feel fresh and cool for 2018. Ahead see how fashion girls are wearing them and shop our favorite styles.
We have a feeling baggy jeans like this style will be the big denim trend that will explode over the next few months.
Try wearing a pair of baggy jeans with a more tailored piece like a blazer.
Opt for a high-waisted pair with a tucked-in top for an alternative to trousers.

I personally can’t wait to try out the baggy jeans trend for myself.
