What to Wear to a Wedding When You're Pregnant
I ordinarily greet wedding invites with great sartorial delight, as I am always enthusiastic for the opportunity to don my fanciest of frocks. But next month’s upcoming summer wedding comes with a challenge. I’ll be in my sixth month of pregnancy, and not only will I have to formally dress my new burgeoning bump, but I will have to do so in the over–100 degree sweltering Palm Springs heat. Insert anguished face emoji here.
Determined not to default to an oversize muumuu and negate all sense of personal style, I did what I do best as a fashion editor and scoured the market long and hard for the absolute best dresses that are equal parts comfortable, breathable, wedding-appropriate, and of course, impeccably chic. Note that not all these dresses are necessarily maternity, but they do give enough bandwidth for a baby bump. And lastly, don’t be afraid to play with accessories. A plain dress can look exponentially chicer with the addition of some standout earrings and a clutch.
So if you’re pregnant and have a slew of wedding invites this summer, here are some dress ideas for you.
