6 Non-Boring Styling Tricks I'm Trying this Spring
I don’t know about you but with a hopeful new season just around the corner, I’m definitely ready to shake things up a little in the sartorial department. To get my creative juices flowing and my wardrobe feeling fresh for the warm season ahead, I turned to the Spring/Summer 2021 collections to see all the fun and modern ways designers have been styling the latest trends and taking notes on any cool styling tricks that I can easily try for myself. Luckily, there are plenty of innovative fun pairings and styling ideas that are anything but boring. Take a peek below as I share some of the Insta-worthy looks that are wearable yet striking and I fully plan to give a go this spring and summer then shop all our picks to achieve the looks.
Style Your Hoodie With a Skirt & Heels
Hoodies have been a go-to in our wardrobes this past year, but they made a prominent appearance in the spring collections—styled with a variety of different skirts from wrap skirts to fun party skirts—and finished off with heels. It's a chic and fresh way to elevate the humble basic this upcoming season.
Shop:
Pair Your Track Pants with a Party Top
Designers decided to add a lively touch of optimism to sporty track pants by pairing them with fun party tops—from puff sleeve cropped tops to sequin camisoles, and chic halter-necks.
Shop:
Layer a Skirt or Dress Over Your Pants
We love a little innovative pant layering, and this season we're seeing everything from minimalist dresses to ethereal sheer skirts layered over all types of pants—exuding a refreshingly cool and unique springtime look.
Shop:
Wear a Black Blazer Over a Black Bra
One dominant look we saw practically everywhere was a simple black bra and black blazer duo. Skin is certainly in for spring 2021 and this is a subtle way to show a little in a chic and fashion-forward way.
Shop:
Wrap a Scarf, Sweater, or Top Around Another Top
A styling trick we've seen in the past (and never tire of) is an effortless wrap of some kind (usually a sweater or scarf) tied around our shoulders or arms—adding a touch of preppiness and elegance to our outfits.
Shop:
WrapTiny Ties Around Your Midriff
One of the biggest trends we saw on the runways were tops, skirts, and pants with delicate ties that wrap around the midriff (what we like to call midriff flossing). It will make any spring or somewhere outfit look fresh and entirely on-trend.
Shop:
Shop the matching Shiloh Solid Strap Detail Skirt ($250).
Up next, dresses are my weakness—here are 11 styles everyone should own.
