I'm on the Hunt for the Ultimate Revenge Dress—These 29 Have Me in a Choke Hold
I'm a firm believer that looking your best is the best revenge, and that's where the concept of a "revenge dress" comes from. I'd like to think the revenge dress has been around as long as dresses have existed, but most of us think of that infamous black dress Princess Diana wore in the '90s to a Vanity Fair party. The timing coincided with her estranged husband confessing his infidelity during their marriage. Princess Diana looked so good that just her showing up in it was deemed an act of revenge.
Ever since, women everywhere have been secretly shopping for that one dress that you keep in your closet as backup and only bring out when you really need it. A revenge dress needs to make you feel confident and tends to have a touch of sexiness. I don't know when I'm going to need a dress that doubles as an act of revenge, but I do know that I don't want to be empty-handed when the time comes.
I rolled up my sleeves and got to looking for the best revenge dresses on the market and found 30 that have some serious wow factor. Keep scrolling to see the 29 I'm loving right now.
I have this dress in green, and now, I am convinced I need the black version.
If you're looking for a revenge dress but don't want to wear black or red, this one is for you.
This Miaou dress sort of reminds me of Carrie Bradshaw's "naked dress." I'm obsessed.
I love the idea of a leather revenge dress.
This one is a personal favorite. I know it's completely covered in lace, but it's not as sheer as you think when you wear it. I highly recommend getting your hands on this.
This dress is on the simple side, but the leather and the hemline really take it to a sexier place.
This is not your stereotypical revenge dress, but it definitely gets the job done.
Norma Kamali knows how to make a revenge dress. This one has major Princess Diana vibes.
God Save Queens' whole vibe is about sheer paneling, cutouts, and nude illusions, making it a great route to go on when looking for a revenge dress.
I'm counting down the days until it's warm enough to wear this dress.
