Around five years ago, I was introduced to the California-based brand Rails. I purchased a very Jeanne Damas–esque floral midi skirt that I still wear to this day—a testament to its great quality. Needless to say, I've been hooked ever since. I come back to Rails time and again when I'm looking for effortlessly elegant pieces that are fashion-forward yet have a timeless quality to them. The brand has come to define a new classic heritage and relaxed sensibility, merging Cali comfort with European sophistication. I always spot the brand on a number of influencers and fashion people, and for fall, I decided to do a big Rails try-on haul because its latest pieces are just too good not to share.

Its fall collection embodies that effortlessly chic French-girl aesthetic that we talk about so often here at Who What Wear. It's a chic mix of modern silhouettes and classic pairings with a refined Parisian sensibility. Below, I'm sharing some of the chicest items I tried on that I absolutely can't stop raving about. From easy striped knit sweaters to silky skirts and timeless blazers, take a peek below at every item I tried and loved from Rails' fall collection and then shop them for yourself.

Rails Jac Blazer & Prim Skirt

This check blazer and matching skirt just might be my two new favorite items hanging in my closet right now. Tailored to perfection, the double-breasted blazer fits beautifully and is made of warm wool that feels like it will last forever. It's easy to throw on with jeans and a tee and instantly gives an outfit a chic French-inspired touch. I can't wait to wear it with its matching miniskirt or pair the skirt with a black turtleneck and knee-high boots. Honestly, you can mix and match these suit separates to your heart's content!

Rails Dorian Shirt & Alta Pants

I can't rave enough about this silky striped button-down. Not only is it versatile, luxe, and chic—perfect for day or night—but it's also incredibly comfortable. The brown-and-blue color combo is striking, and I can see myself wearing it with everything from jeans to slip skirts and, of course, these brown tailored trousers I'm wearing in the photo. The trousers are perfect for work or the weekend and are silky soft to the touch.

Rails Solene Dress

I had spotted the Solene dress in cobalt blue on a few of my favorite influencers this summer, so when I saw it in the fall collection in this rich and sumptuous dark brown, I knew I had to have it. The satin dress is perfect for any fall/winter event and can easily be dressed up or down with the right shoes and accessories. The minimal neckline looks stunning. I love the idea of wearing it with ballet flats and a sweater for a casual fall day or with silver heels and a long wool coat for an evening out.

Rails Harris Sweater

It's not fall without a cozy sweater, and this striped beige-and-navy one hits my eye just right. Made from a luxe-feeling wool-cashmere blend, the polo sweater with its exaggerated collar and deep V-neck is lightweight yet warm and looks elevated and polished. I can easily wear this to work or on the weekend—it's so versatile.

Rails Getty Wide-Leg Jeans

I had never tried denim from Rails before, but after giving the Getty Wide-Leg jeans a go, I'm officially a Rails-jeans convert. This high-waisted silhouette really elongates the legs, and the quality of the fabric is excellent. They're semi-rigid with just a little stretch for comfort. They fit true to size (I'm a size 27 for reference), but I'd recommend sizing up if you're in between sizes. The dark wash is perfect to wear day to night. Guaranteed, I'll be reaching for these all throughout fall.

Rails Anya Skirt

If you love a silky slip skirt, then you will not regret getting your hands on the Anya Skirt. The midi-length high-waisted silhouette looks luxurious and can easily be paired with an oversize sweater for a daytime look and with heels to transition into the night. The hue feels fresh and fitting for the new season.

I love an effortless blouse that you can throw on and go. It has a gorgeous neckline with drop shoulders and flowy ruched sleeves and oozes an effortless elegance. It's so easy to move in and is perfect for practically every occasion.

Berlin Skirt

There's nothing as luxurious and elevated as a silky ivory skirt. This sleek midi silhouette adds a touch of sophistication to every outfit. It boasts a flattering bias cut and looks amazing with flats and heels alike. How gorgeous would it look styled with an oversize ivory sweater throughout the cooler months?

Rails Jac Blazer

Not all black blazers are created equal, but Rails got it just right with this easy, relaxed-fitting double-breasted silhouette. I love the idea of styling it with a miniskirt and Mary Janes while the temps are still pleasant.
