I'm a Fashion Editor—This Accessory Is My Secret to Looking Put-Together
Sponsor Content Created With Rado
Accessories hold a particular power. The difference between a good outfit and a great one is often in the finer details. Recently, I've been paying extra attention to such details, particularly watches. Unlike most accessories that move with the trends and vary distinctly from season to season, watches have an eternal quality that fittingly can only be described as timeless. This led me to deep-dive into the world of watches, and there was no better place to start than Rado. Specifically, the brand's Centrix collection embodies elegance and is the perfect finishing touch for any look.
Founded and made in Switzerland, the birthplace of timepieces, Rado has built a legacy from its groundbreaking steps in the watch scene. The heritage brand created the first scratch-proof watch back in the '60s, and its innovation has continued with pioneering features including ultra-slim and lightweight ceramic styles. Rado has earned its place as one of the most trusted watch brands in the world, and each new collection has even more styles to covet. But the truly joyful thing about these watches is that you'll love them for far longer than a season or two.
Watches are so much more than an accessory. They're often signifiers of special moments and have the potential to become treasured heirlooms. Completely trend-proof, a Rado watch is one I can see myself wearing for the rest of my life. I hold investment pieces to a high standard: They need to be high quality, timeless in aesthetic, and versatile, and Rado's Centrix collection ticks all the boxes. The refined craftsmanship of Rado's watches is evident at first sight. For 2023, the Centrix has been reworked with a rounded silhouette that's uninterrupted with edge-to-edge glass, adding an elegant feel. The new rounded shape adds an understated softness to the form. You'll find diamonds nestled in place of number indices, which gives an ultra-luxurious feel to the piece. The new additions to the collection feature four dial options featuring a 3D dial effect, and come in rose gold and silver hardware. But no matter which version you choose, this is a timeless watch that can be worn for all occasions. To prove it, I've styled two of the new watches in multiple ways below. Keep scrolling to see how they elevate any and every outfit.
1. Running Errands
I first thought of those days when I'm headed out to run errands or navigating my commute. If you're anything like me, this probably means you're also running late. When throwing an outfit together with little time to spare, considering the accompanying accessories can fall to the bottom of your priority list. Forget untangling necklaces or searching for matching earrings—a sleek watch such as this is all you need to look put-together no matter what you're wearing.
2. Event Dressing
When it comes to event dressing, you don't have to overdo it with the accessories. Instead, let your timepiece be the moment. The smooth outline and glistening diamonds are the perfect accents for a special occasion or polished daytime look. To further enhance the white ceramic of this style, I finished the look with complementary white shoes, and the rose gold pairs perfectly with the brown hues in my dress.
3. Coffee Date
As we look towards warmer days, I'll regularly turn to this outfit over the summer season. Whether I'm at brunch in the city or coffee with friends, an easy white dress is a reliable go-to. But to take it from a plain dress to a considered outfit, the simple style needs a touch of elevation, and there's no finer addition than this watch.
4. On the Clock
An easy outfit formula I turn to on most days is a shirt and jeans. When I'm heading to the office or out for meetings, this laid-back ensemble needs a refined touch, and that's where the watch comes in. Adding my Rado watch completes the outfit—it ensures I arrive on time, and the elegant and sleek design elevates this throw-on look.
