So far, Fashion Week Australia has been more than living up to our expectations. From Camilla and Marc’s breathtaking opening show, to Albus Lumen’s unexpectedly dreamy chocolate hues, Australian designers are wowing us at this year’s Resort 19 presentations. And the show we’re currently recovering from? Macgraw.
While everything in the presentation was swoon-worthy, there was one subtle detail that caught our eyes: The shoes. Wearing little satin ballet flats, the models had us dreaming of walking in the comfy shoes ourselves. Almost resembling socks, the simple shiny shoes are a far cry from the stiletto heels of seasons past—in a good way. There’s no denying that satiny, silky fabrics are trending right now. From slip dresses to scruchies, and everything in between, the smooth fabric has been winning us over for a while—and this new iteration is no exception.
There’s nothing we can imagine not wanting to wear these with. Jeans, dresses, even denim cutoffs… these simple shoes would pair well with virtually every outfit, adding a subtle hint of elegance with the luxe material. Needless to say, we’ll be keeping our eyes out for satin ballet flats this season: We’re betting they'll be everywhere. And the best news yet?
