8 Jeans-and-a-Nice-Top Outfits That Have You Covered for Every Occasion

I’ve been a stylist for almost 10 years, so I’d like to think that when it comes to putting clothes together, I know a thing or two. Even so, I still have those moments, either in the morning or before going to dinner or drinks, where I find myself staring at my wardrobe without any inspiration at all.

It’s in those moments, though, that I’ve learned to not be afraid of falling back on old faithfuls. They’re called that for a reason, after all. It might be my favourite midi dress and ankle boots or the power suit I know I feel great in. More often than not, however, it’s jeans and a nice top. It’s a winning combination that just works for so many occasions, and most importantly, it never feels too dressy or too casual, which is particularly helpful for those outings where the dress code isn’t obvious. Drinks at the pub? First date? Working lunch? Hen do? Best friend’s birthday? Throw on a cute top and your go-to denim, and you’re covered.

So as an ode to this hero wardrobe pairing, and to make your lives much easier during this strange trans-seasonal time, below I’ve pulled together eight of the best nice top + jeans outfits that I’ve come across recently and shopped them out. From elevated shirting to back-baring styles (grab your blazer or coat on the way out), keep scrolling to see and shop the looks now.
