Welcome to The Great Try-On. We're gearing up for spring, and that includes freshening up our wardrobes with some new pieces. We got to try on some of the best spring pieces from some of your favorite brands and documented it all from our at-home dressing rooms so that you can see how they actually look IRL. We hope that our photos and candid reviews will help you shop for spring wardrobe builders and trend-forward pieces that you'll wear over and over this season and beyond.

Ahead of a new season, it's always nice to freshen up your wardrobe with a few new pieces you're excited about. Doing a closet refresh helps me rediscover old pieces and style them in new ways. H&M always has trendy, affordable items that feel exciting with the weather changing. Heading to the store can be overwhelming, so this season, I'm hoping to help you out by test-driving a few of my favorites and giving you my honest feedback and styling ideas for each piece.

As someone who likes to experiment with different aesthetics, I chose a range of pieces that go from traditional workwear to playful vacationwear, and I mixed them all together in a spring-dressing extravaganza. Below, you'll find my looks and personal reviews on each piece, from tailored cargo pants to textured bodysuits to summer staples. Shop away!

My Review: I rarely meet a blazer I don't like, especially when it includes a boxy, well-cut silhouette. This one was no exception. I have been looking for the perfect ivory blazer for spring and summer, and this find definitely fits the bill. The light woven fabric feels appropriate for warm weather, and the fit is exemplary.

I layered this off-white blazer with the textured bodysuit in an abstract black-and-white pattern. It almost looks like a one-piece swimsuit, which I loved for a summery feel. Both other colorways of the textured bodysuit make for the ideal spring and summer layer as well.

I styled these toppers with a pair of light-wash H&M cargo jeans for the quintessential work-from-home ensemble. Complete with a black shoulder bag and oversize spectacles.

H&M Shirt Dress With Eyelet Embroidery

My Review: This was one of my favorite pieces from this spring selection—a roomy shirtdress with eyelet detailing. It has a waist tie included that I wrapped to the back and tied to add some shape. This also doubles as an oversize white button-down with jeans. (*Insert dress-over-pants trend*)

For styling, I chose an all-white look to keep it crisp and fresh with white tube socks, retro white sneakers, and a floral handbag.

H&M Embroidered Shirt and Straight Cargo Pants

My Review: This detailed button-down is everything I'm looking for in an elevated work top. An upgrade on a button-down never fails, and this one is an easy, refined staple. I accompanied this top with a pair of effortless cargo pants in traditional khaki to keep a sophisticated feel. Neutral accessories and a white tank top finished off the look.

H&M Ribbed Tank Top and Silk-Blend Satin Pants

My Review: I have been seeing aspirational fashion people elevating their satin trousers into work looks. So when I saw this pair, I knew that it was my time to try it out. Adding a simple blazer, a tank top, and loafers was a surefire way to nail the office look.

H&M Tie-Belt Denim Jacket and Wide-Leg Utility Pants

My Review: A nice denim trucker jacket is something I've been hunting down for transitional weather, and this one was the perfect find. It can be worn open or tied (as I did) and is also very chic with a pair of dark-wash jeans.

These wide-leg cargo pants are the perfect hybrid of work trousers and cargo pants. The high waist and pleating details elevate these trousers and give them the ideal cut.

H&M Linen Shirt and Wide-Cut Linen Pants

My Review: I can confess I love a co-ord set when it features a billowy button-down shirt. Black linen feels unexpected, so I was excited to see this available as an ensemble. I picture this as a vacation look, so I paired it with the same textured bodysuit that resembles a one-piece swimsuit. I'd style it with the top open with sandals and swimwear or with a tank top and sneakers for the daytime.

H&M Tapered Linen-Blend Pants

My Review: White linen pants are on my must-have list for spring and summer, and this pair is cut unlike any I've seen on the market. They have a clean, tapered silhouette that crops just above the ankle. The lightweight material and front pleats make these pants feel very refined and expensive. I finished the look with a knit button-down, a vintage bag, and tonal sneakers. These pants feel appropriate for work ensembles, casual daytime outfits, and polished vacation looks.
